Question Anyone Else Need to Lose Some Serious Weight?

My weight has ballooned again, due mostly to a switch in medications. I need to lose at least 30 lbs.

I'm attempting South Beach again. If my stomach starts bothering me like it did the last time, I will switch to Weight Watcher's old Core program. Core is a lot like SB, but a little less restrictive (mainly the difference is SB's Phase 1 doesn't exist in Core).

Anyway, I need to get this weight off. I'm afraid if I don't, my health will really suffer.

Anyone else dieting? Or doing SB?

I need to be on a plan - have been floundering for awhile here.
I've heard a lot of good things about SB, so shall check it out. If not SB, then I shall choose another plan.

Need to lose 75 pounds. Need to do it for my health.

Greebo and I did the south beach a few years ago and lost a fair bit of weight. Unfortunately, we both put some back on when we stopped being so diligent.

I joined spark people (free) and can calculate my intake and fitness each day. There are groups that do specifically ww or sb as well that can offer more support too. And you can adjust your goals (cal intake vs carb intake) so you can track what you want to track.

Right now, Greebo joined the Biggest Loser competition at work so we are both counting calories for the next 12 weeks before we go on vacation. I try to get on the elliptical and even if its only 20 mins then that's 20 mins more exercise than usual.

I probably have a good 50 pounds to lose total but would really like to lose about 25 pounds (2 per week) for the trip. I didn't put it on in one day so it isn't coming off in one day. I'm just eating less, more fruit, more veggies and less meats right now. I'm not too off base from the SB plan.

I'm Ceashels on that spark people too so let me know if you check it out.

Raises hand! Had a BIG chunk of regain myself in the last year. I'm doing Primal Blueprint. Basically lower carb (which is necessary to stay off my meds) and as natural foods as possible.

I too need to lose some. I did one of those age, weight, sex and height things online and it said my ideal weight was between 115-125 and sadly enough I'd say I'm about at 160. Hoping to lose all of it between now and August if not sooner. My BF and I just started to really get into working out, walking, rollerblading and soon running.

Oh, me, pick me too! lol

Unfortunately I need to loose some weight. I have heard of SB, but never read anything on it. Weight watcher's core is new to me. Is anyone on that?

I can do most anything, but give up my coffee with cream.

Stands up and introduces self: Im Jmarie.. and I need to lose serious weight. So count me in on this too.. so it seems like alot of know/have an idea of what to do.. but aren't following through with it.. Buddy system anyone? I know I can use use it. I am too doing the South Beach diet.. but doctor only agrees with starting on phase II, where you can fruits, bread, carbs.

Any ideas for the buddy system.. maybe just check in to post how ya did, any ups or downs and what your are doing (diet, workout etc)..

I am on a bridal forum and its set up like Who exercised today.. what are your thoughts?

I could lose atleast 30 pounds. i'd like to try that again and be more aware of the carbs i'm eating so south beach type dieting could be the way i'll go this time. Good luck to all of us!

I'm on my own diet but its primarily based on the South Beach ideals...that logic makes sense to me, no meetings to go to, no buying special foods etc. Its totally do-able. I do slip every now and then but between South Beach & the Diabetes diet as well as my desire to eat simple foods (home cooked, not as much processed etc) I know I can do it. Changes take time to adjust to but I'd rather take my time instead of diving in, losing lb's and gaining it all back when I'm at my goal weight and off the program.

I'm trying to make this a total lifestyle change, hoping it sticks with me

Ugh! I've been on prednisone for short periods of time <3 mos and it was horrible. I thank goodness I lived out in the country because I wanted to run to KFC just from seeing a commercial. I feel for you.
