The idea that she shouldn't be obsessed and upset over a small gain now and then, but should focus on the overall downward trend instead is spot on. HOWEVER, I don't think you're the one who should be pointing that out. That's better coming from a disinterested third party, like her WW leader.

As others have said, she doesn't want you to fix it, she just wants you to listen or at least pretend to if you can fake sincerity well enough, and then make clucking noises. That's really all that's required of you.

I don't know if this would help her or not, but if she is gaining a pound or so, or the weight loss is slowing down, remind her that muscle mass weighs more than fat. A compliment on how much more toned she is looking and a reminder that she is exchanging fat for muscle might help.

I would support her in small ways. My husband actually helps around the house. He will cook and clean up from dinner so I am not stressed out and we can walk together. Which gives us some talking time and is good for both of our health. It also helps with the weight loss.

LOL at the pantsing thing, Mek.

I really think if you randomly notice a change on her body here or there, you should tell her in a hubba hubba kind of way. But also, (so that she doesn't feel like she's losing this way just to be a 'plaything') tell her how proud and in awe of her you are at her interest in her health, and how you admire her perseverence.

Whatever you do, don't tell her her boobs are starting to get smaller!
