    Default What's Worth the Splurge?

Are there some cosmetics you're willing to spend more on because they're actually that much better than the less expensive alternative? What are the items you're willing to splurge on? What would you never pay more for?

My splurge is the BE mineral makeup -- I love that stuff! It looks a lot more natural on me than the liquid foundations I've tried over the years, so to me it's really worth the extra I pay for it.

Something I'd never pay extra for is eye makeup remover. I use a mix of olive and castor oil to clean my face and it takes the makeup right off.

I wear so little of it that I can't think of anything right now.

Used to use Estee Lauder stuff but decided it wasn't worth the $.

but back in the days when I COULD wear perfume, I paid a price for some of it. Now, with the allergies, I can't wear it and really miss it!

DH and I are willing to pay higher prices for organic products. He also has some skin sensitivities so he buys a hypoallergenic shampoo, but he doesn't use conditioner. I also don't wear makeup that often, so I never need to splurge on that.

However, in the realm of health and beauty products, I will go and spend much more on a Diva Cup at once. I love love LOVE the Diva Cup. No problem with paying for it, it totally pays for itself in the end.

Well, since this is the H&B forum... I'll include everything

2-ply toilet paper (I still stockpile it on sale, but it's worth the extra dollar to me)

Toothpaste, medicine and deoderant from the pharmacy/grocery store - not the Dollar Tree (just can't trust it's safe)

As far as cosmetics, the only real 'brand name' item I -have- to use is my eyeliner. I wear Covergirl eyeliner in Midnight Blue. It's the soft, twisty kind. I got a splinter once from the pencil type and vowed never again.

We've tried product after product for Diva's hair, and the only thing that seems to keep it under control is Paul Mitchell. Luckily her Nana pays for it... otherwise it's $50/month
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Hmmm, dh likes only Sure unscented stick deodorant. I don't have any HBA but coffee, I only buy good whole bean coffee from a coffee shop. I just can't stand the stuff in the can.

    Default blue mascara.

I love this brand called "hard candy". they offer mascara in any color(electric blue, lime green, bright gold, silver, fire engine red, and more.) i am in love with the electric blue mascara. no i am not too old! i pay the price wich is quite expensive and it is worth it. you can get it at walmart if you are interested. hard candy also offers eye shadows, eyeliners, blushes, glitter(not a fan of glitter) and lipsticks all in any color you could imagine.

i buy a couple of supplements that are a bit pricey where i work, but i get 20% off everything there which is great. Plus i get an extra gift card when helping out with wine tastings, and that helps tremendously

Dave buys only one brand of deodorant due to skin sensitivity. I swear by Philosophy's Purity to wash my face & take off my makeup. I only use Cover Girl foundation because it's the only one I've found that doesn't make my face break out or look like an oil slick.

Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner. NOTHING else agrees with my hair

Aveeno body lotion - good price, great quality and no skin reactions.

Bath & Body Works body washes - no one can make things smell sooooo good in the shower, that I can find lol. I do have other types of body washes in there and all purchased on sale or w/coupon but the scents from B&BW tops my list. Total splurge.

For my face, I really love the Neutrogena foundation.

For my body, I really really love Bath & Body Works lotion. I wear it all over every day. It makes my skin soft and not dry and flaky! I have tried other lotions, but they just don't cut it!

For my hair, I love Aussie shampoo and conditioner.

I tried to think of something, but I really don't splurge on the more expensive stuff anymore. I don't see/feel/look any different.

"Suave does what theirs does, for half the price" (their old advertisement line)

Covergirl and Maybelline (or even E.L.F. or Wet and Wild nowadays) did OK for me as a teen, and they do OK for me at 55.

Cheaper hair gels do the same thing.

Hmm.....I can't think of anything splurgy I use.

The really good Nutregena face sunscreen that is drier than usual sunscreen. I love it! I wont give it up.

Undergarments from Victoria Secret because they have proven to me they last longer.

Anything else is up for grabs, I've suffered through some pretty lousy sanitary pads to save a buck but I'd do it again if they're on a super sale.
