    Default Stiff neck

I had a stiff neck yesterday but last night it got worse. I'm not sure what caused it but as silly as it seems I think it may be a result of my getting new progressive lenses in my glasses and moving my neck differently. Well whatever the reason I really would like to get a better nights sleep tonight. I've done the ibruprofin, gentle stretching in the shower...any other ideas? Hot packs? Thank you for any help you can give. Oh, wasn't fun going to the dentist today and get a filling done with this neck hurting.

Hope you feel better soon Darlene. Do you have a heating pad? That always helps me.

Can you get a shoulder rub? I find a lot of my neck pain starts in the collarbones.

It's so miserable with a stiff neck. I always use a heating pad and that seems to help.

Remember, too, that while heat feels really good, it is ice and cold compresses that will make any inflammation (often a source of, or companion to pain) go away.

Soaking in a warm tub with some epsom salts usually works for me.

Thanks for your ideas. Did the heating pad imbruprofin thing last night and I did sleep better but it's still stiff today. Just one of those frustrating things that will go away eventually, glad I don't have cronic pain like some people do. Counting my "blessings".

I had a very bad neck strain one time that would hurt really bad for a few days and then go away for a week or so and come back. Turned out to be an ear infection of all things. Way down in the tubes that go down to your throat of all things. I went to the DR and after some trail and error it got better.
