Nail Polish
I went to pick up meds at the pharmacy this afternoon and thought I'd pick up a cute summery shade and when the cashier scanned it, it came up as $10.97
I know this wasn't a 'new display' or seasonal type colour, I only chose it b/c it looked to be older packaging thus would be marked down...boy was I wrong. I asked the cashier to remove it from my bill and left it at the store.
The average I spend is $5/bottle and thats when they're on sale. I tend to buy brand name only so there's some sort of quality/consistency. I'll get big brand name ones as a gift from friends or we recycle them around - you know trade colours/bottles for a while etc.
Just wondering how much you'd pay for a nail polish that you've deemed worthy (quality wise) of your hard earned money?2012: The Year Of The Purge!

Cheap nail polish doesn't exist in Denmark, nor do buy 1 get one free sales. Entry level polish is around $8-$10 US for a smaller bottle than I'm used to.
In the US, I'd pay around $5/bottle, wait for a buy 1 get 1 free sale, and use a coupon or two to save a few more bucks, making my total cost of a drugstore brand between $1 & $2. I miss those deals.

You can get e.l.f brand for a buck. It's vegan and I like the quality. I have their pretty red on my toes now.

I typically won't pay over 5-6 bucks. I don't paint mine often though because I pick at my nails too much. I do like to paint my toes though. Usually I just use a top coat or a nail hardener on my fingernails.

I'll go up to $2-3 for a standard color but my tendency is for Wet N Wild for some ludicrous colors that make me laugh. They usually run $1-2 but its been a few years since I purchased any.

I don't buy nail polish because I suck at applying it. It looks like a drunkard tries to paint them if I do it.

I only buy nail polish when its on clearance or sale. I won't pay more than $2.50 a bottle. I won't buy Sally Hansen- it's horrible even the "salon" brand of that line chips the same day so don't waste your money. Also my mom is a stylist so she gets me OPI and other salon nail polishs at the warehouse at their prices.

I try to get it at the dollar store for 1.00 and alot of times I can get it for less then 3.00 for a name brand at Meijer or walmart but 5.00 is my absolute limit and it has to be pretty spectacular of a color for that kind of money. It gets used alot here with three girls in the house.
