    I hope you're feeling better.

    I like to spend time in nature, listen to soothing music, pray and/or meditate when I'm troubled.

    Bubble baths are nice too.
    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”
    — From a translation of an inscription on
    an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.

    God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
    courage to change the things I can,
    and the wisdom to know the difference

    prayer, turning the problem over to my higher power, praying for clear direction or answers. asking god directly for what i want or need or explaining the situation to spirit.

    clearing my mind, clearing the gerbil cage of thoughts inside my head, and being fully present for, say, washing the dishes. there is a spiritual gift in the dirty dish. it means you ate that day and had prosperity and abundance. there is beauty and significance in the dirty sheets or the messy bedroom. you had a lovely soft place to lay your head and rest.

    i get a lot of comfort and driection from the book simple abundance by sarah breathnach. i find a lot of spiritual serenity and thoughts from the book (not the movie) the nun's story by hulme.

    sometimes i turn to church literature written by women. i do not get anything from scripture and find it is a waste of my time.
    11% gross to retirement
    10% takehome to tithe and offerings
    emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
    freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

    i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

    When I was going through alot, 15 years ago, I used to color. I bought fun coloring books and crayons and went to town. I even found a neat coloring book at the local bookstore that had art nouveau pictures to color. Kinda like those big black velvet coloring pictures on cardboard that come with colored markers. It was very soothing for me.

    knit, crochet, hand sew, make potholders, something with your hands.

    Here's my sanity

    Exercise:

    A day at the Spa Tai Chi DVD

    Living Arts Chi for beginners with David-Dorian Ross Upper and Lower Body. VHS

    Check out Goodwill or thrift stores, people often think they are going to do exercise and then the moment passes. You could find something there.

    Visual/Auditory

    David Fortney- Canyonlands A southwestern Dessert Odyssey
    David Fortney-Timeless A National Parks Odyssey

    If these were a $100 dollars a piece they would still be worth every single cent of it. I can not recommend these two DVD's enough.

    Sounds of the ocean CD
    Thundering rainstorm CD
    Sounds of the rain forest CD
    Babbling brook CD
    All on repeat all night long

    You may be able to find something similar at the dollar store. I know I've seen they have relaxing type CDS.

    I try to surround myself with soothing things like;

    *candles
    *oils~scents that are relaxing-Check out health food store
    *tabletop water fountains-CVS carries inexpensive ones
    *Soothing wind chimes in our breezeway-Garden center. Check the sound first, not all are soothing
    *Low lighting

    Some suggestions

    Turn off the news

    Change homepage on the computer to something non toxic

    change screen saver to a soothing picture like and ocean scene

    Consider you music choices, sometimes it's not that relaxing

    Surround yourself with soothing colors

    Declutter-Too much stuff around is too much sensory input for those with anxiety problems.

    Consider some Feng Shui for your place, I like very Zen places.

    A fish tank can be Uber soothing if done in natural sea scape rather then pirates treasure chest. You could lose time relaxing watching you little fishes.

    Make your own Zen. Take a decorative shallow container. Fill with sand. Add some river rocks and a little rake. Put on your table top, every time you get stressed. Make designs in the sand, arrange to stones. Very soothing, and an easy meditative exercise that's easy to get lost in. Can easily be done with dollar store items and a kitchen fork.

    And
    Prayer

    Here's a neat fountain that has chimes. I love this! I had a friend who had something similar and it Rocked!

    Battery Operated Tabletop Fountain - Feng-Shui Inspired Design

    Hope you're feeling better soon
