Ladies only please....
So, I just took a home pregnancy test because I am over 2 months late for my period...negative (thank goodness!)...
I have no health insurance so I figured I might be able to get advise here...
Background- periods are usually somewhat late. I will go like 3 months with it on time, and then a month I will be like 2 weeks late, and like once a year I will skip a month, but never 2 months.
Doctors have said in the past they think I have PCOS, and then my last doctor said I do not ovulate.
I just do not know what to think of this...I thought maybe this time, crap, maybe I did ovulate and got pregnant? But I am not...this can't be healthy. Periods all over the place like this??
Anyone have any type of advise? I hope DH gets health insurance soon!

Do you have some type of women's clinic you can go to that take payments or based on your income?
Can you apply for Medicaid?

Did you get your thyroid tested? Is it slow? If it is, that may delay your period. Are you able to look up free clinics in your area?

Yes, I do have a thyroid problem. Not sure which one it is, but its the one that makes me tired and make you gain weight my doc said.

I believe they call the slow one the 'hypoactive thyroid' and the fast one the 'hyperactive thyroid'
Your metabolism is outta whack which could seriously do some damage. There are several symptoms for both cases, you should do a quick google and learn as much as you can about this.
The best thing you can do is get it checked out by the doctor - I know you said you don't have insurance but this is right up there in importance with the heart (at least that's how I feel). If your doctor has told you that you have a slow thryoid, are you taking meds for it?
Seriously Ashley, don't let this go on untreated...the damage could be unreversable.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

Nope, no meds. Insurance got booted before I could get any...
I also had surgery for pre cervical cancer, because they said it was starting to turn into cancer, I wonder if this could have anything to do with it??
I was never able to go back to the doctors to see if they removed it all. As crazy as it seems I cannot find any good info on cervical cancer.
I will apply for state insurance tomorrow...DH is on unemployment and I am just babysitting so maybe we will get approved.

Just reasearched NJ health insurance, and I did not get approved for any. The free ones are for people 65 and over, OR for people with kids (NJ family care).
I can't afford to pay for insurance, and then all the co-pays, meds, specialists...
Ugh. It just makes me want to cry. I am deaf in one ear because I have no health insurance and had a bad ear infection over a year ago and could not get it looked at (went to the ER, they said ear was fine, big joke).
Just stinks!

Have you tried the Health Resources and Services Administration's search to find a clinic in your area? See HRSA - Find a Health Center - Search Page
PLEASE see if there's a clinic in your area. You need to find out what's going on with your cycle AND you need to follow up on whether all of the cancer was removed.Federally-funded health centers care for you, even if you have no health insurance. You pay what you can afford, based on your income. Health centers provide
1. checkups when you're well
2. treatment when you're sick
3. complete care when you're pregnant
4. immunizations and checkups for your children
5. dental care and prescription drugs for your family
6. mental health and substance abuse care if you need it
Health centers are in most cities and many rural areas. Type in your address and click the 'Find Health Centers' button to find health centers near you.-Suzanne

Ditto on the Planned Parenthood. The servives they provide are on a sliding scale.
Hypothyroidism is the thyroid disorder that makes you tired, gain weight, etc. I have that disorder as well, however, it's never affected my cycles.
Stress can affect cycles, lack of proper nourishment, and all that. Are you on a hormonal birth control?McD

Honestly, if it was me I would just bite the bullet and go to the doctor. If it ends up being something really serious (and if the test is wrong, because they've been known to be wrong), you could be killing yourself.
Checked Planned Parenthood first. After that, find a free clinic in NJ to go to. If all else fails, just go to the doctor and pay the bill in installments.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Not to worry you much more, but all the pregnancy tests I've taken did not show anything until the 10th week. I'm pregnant for the 3rd time now. Get thee to a clinic!

Thanks...I did find CAMcare in NJ near me that will take you w/o insurance and its based on your pay so that should work for me, and I think its a OBGYN and a regular doctor to.
Thanks all
And Siebrie, first time I was pregnant test did not work til 10 weeks either, thats funny. Only this time, I really don't feel pregnant, and I was actually ovulating back then as well...
