~I forgot to mention that I can't have soy products(because I have baby brain!) but you all have given me some wonderful ideas! I'm definitely going to get some coconut milk and cream(would make awesome milkshakes!) and try pizza with no cheese!
I can't help thinking I'll taste almond in cream sauces with almond milk. In rice pudding that would be great but in fried chicken gravy not so much? Does anyone use rice milk for cooking?
I'm going to occasionally add a dairy item back into my diet to see what she can handle. Saturday I tried having just 3 TBS of cream cheese icing on a cinnamon roll and she couldn't tolerate it.

Domino's hand tossed with no cheese is good for a store bought.
I'd go with the almond for sauce rather than the rice milk. Rice milk tasted like water in gravy form. Personally, I prefer coffee gravy if I were eating a fried meat again.
Keep in mind the fat and calories as you try subs too. There is a reason some taste better!!

~I made Oat milk today. It was easy, tasty and cheap!
Tomorrow I'm picking up some brown rice to make rice milk.
Between the 4 milk alternatives(almond, coconut, oat, rice)I should have pudding, ice cream, baking and cream sauces covered.
Guess I'll try the nutritional yeast for the cheese substitute on pasta and salad. Wonder how it would taste on tacos? Wonder if Velveeta is far enough removed from real cheese that I could have a bit occasionally to satisfy the cheese urge.
For a butter substitute I think I'll lightly salt or season some olive oil and keep it in the fridge. It will firm up to spreadable.~~Constance
