i noticed your sons age - is this his first year in school ?? if so kids and their parents tend to get sick alot due to things they havent been exposed to alot before are now coming in and out and being re-exposed as kids sent their kids to school sick instead of keeping them home .
i would get to see a dr when you can also -
could be pneumonia could be a sinus infection - could be just a bad cold that wont go away but best to be sure -*~Debbi~*

My Dr. once told me he had a pt. open all windows in the house for 15 minutes, (winter, too!) spray with Lysol, esp door knobs etc, & then he gave everyone in the household a RX for an ABT. He said the family members were taking turns being sick, for months! Just a thought....
Get better soon....

ali has a good point - i do this regularly in the winter as everything is closed up and germs "fester" imo
i do koorknobs, tv controlers, computer keyboards and light switches pretty regularly yr round as that is where germs live for a long long time! clean your phones and cell phones also. change your toothbrushes after being ill. i disinfect often! the frig handles, the microwave panel and handle.
and, yes, when kiddos start school and start back to school or camp after a break, there is almost always an illness of some sort that finds its way into your home! lol

I'm just getting over this and I've been sick off on on since 2 days after Christmas. It took trying different kinds of antibiotics, shots in the ass and lots of bed rest to break it. Drink tons of fluids and get to the Doc.

I did go to the doctor and no shots in the ass for me! You're funny Russ. I have a mild case of the flu and when I told him I've been sick on and off since November he looked right at my son. So apparently he's the carrier and I just keep getting it.
I like the idea of spraying everything and opening the windows. My son goes back to school tomorrow so that will be a good time to disinfect everything. Dr. also said to make sure we wash our hands all the time. Which I thought we did but apparently not good enough.
He didn't really prescribe anything for me. Said to stay on the Tylenol, and prescribed me a nasal spay and to take Mucinex. I talked to my boss today and thankfully he said to stay home tomorrow. I have Monday off for the MLK holiday so that means I don't have to go to work until Tuesday. Hopefully I will be able to get some rest.
and the comment about my ex, yeah, we have a very different divorce..we actually get along and are very much a family. He came over today and dug me out and my car has been in the shop for a week and he's been letting me use his car. I left him $100 on his table today for gas and as a big thank you as there was no way I was digging myself out feeling the way I do.Judy

at least you now know what it is! the nasal spray will shrink the nasal passages and help rid you of a headache! hope you feel better soon.
you will be amazed once you open those windows - regardless of temp outside....how much better you will feel! its amazing how much we take fresh air for granted....
i wash my hands sooo often they are red and dry and cracking!!! at night i do use gold bond ultimate healing skin therapy cream. during the day, while out running errands, i always use purell and then i keep hand lotion in the car and put that on...i sometimes use the lotion that is sanitizing.
those germ factories we call children sure are lucky we love them so! feel better. get some rest. eat some chix soup w/ xtra garlic also.

I'm glad it was nothing terribly serious!
I work with the public and touch their car keys all day long. I use Purell every two hours. (The effects are supposed to last that long.) I also wipe down my office with Lysol wipes and spray it a couple of times a day.

Another overlooked reason we tend to get sick more in the winter is our nasal passages tend to be blocked up and we mouth breath. Our mouth is not a good germ catcher like our nasal passage is.
So, be conscientious of mouth breathing.
Hope you feel well real soon. It sounds as though you're taking the right things. I agree with clearing out the house - fresh air is needed - things fester.

I'm glad it's nothing serious - and that you didn't suffer the appalling fate of Russ.
Take care, and do try to get some rest.Donna

Glad to hear you can take the next couple of days off and (hopefully) get some rest. Try some hot peppermint tea to get some fluids. And chicken soup (or veggie soup if you're vegatarian).
