i take high doses of vitamin D and melantonin for my fibromyalgia and migraines

melantonin for me works like a sleeping pill will for man
i take 3 mg a night usually about an hour before i am going to sleep

it doesnt so much make me tired but puts me into a much deeper sleep than i normally experience the past few years. If i am woken up it may take me a sec to figure out where i am etc .

i do have to make sure i have enough time to get in at least 7 hours sleep or i will feel groggy the next AM .

In the summer i tend to go down to 1.5 mg not sure why but the 3mg is too much in the summer time . I may sleep less since i dont have as much fibro pain in summer.

Just the way it affects me - it will affect everyone differently even though its not a prescription drug-

There are more hours of sun in summer. The more sun you get, the more your body produces its own melatonin and related hormones.

On a side note re: B-12, I take a multi-vitamin and several supplements (good handful of pills, when all is said and done), but I just recently added B-12 to the pile. About six or eight months ago, I noticed a weird smooth spot on my tongue, and after researching it, figured out I had something called "geographic tongue". The articles about it ranged from "nothing you can do about it" to "lack of B-12." So I added B-12, just to see if it would help, because the smooth spot wouldn't go away, and it was very obvious (to me), because it was a darker salmon colour against the white tastebuds surrounding it. After only 2-3 days of taking the B-12, I noticed new tastebuds growing back in the area. When I went to my dentist this week, the hygienist did the whole "grab your tongue and look for cancer" routine and pronounced me sound. No sign whatsoever of that weird patch, so I guess the B-12 did the trick!

    Chia seeds for omegas
    nutritional yeast for b-12
and the sun for vitamin D, seriously sit in the sun for 15 minutes a day- NO sun screen.

Or you can go to your local health food store and ask for a multi vitamin specific for vegans.
