A couple other uses for coconut oil I use it for is to spread it on toast & as a supplement for my dogs.

In all the years that I have had coconut oil, there has only been one summer where it was liquid in the cabinet.

I have also notices that some call for refrigeration and others don't. My new favorite is Barleans.

    BUTTER!

I can't use Pam spray as it gives me panic attacks, so I just have to put butter on everything!! Darn! If you want something more stiff like in cookies, mix it half in half either coconut oil or lard. If you read the ingredients both butter and lard should have one or two listed. My butter says "Sweet cream, salt". Can't mre 'natural' than that!

As for coconut oil....use it when popping popcorn! It's what the theaters use and it's oh so good! We pop ours on the stove in a big pot. When it's done, all I add is a bit of salt and it's just like going to the movies! My kids beg for my "homemade popcorn"! And since coconut oil is natural and popcorn is natural, it HAS to be good for you, right?!

Sorta a little off subject here, but did you hear about the Whole Foods CEO? when his company started having financial difficulties because of this wonderful economy he cut his pay to $1 per year. After stock incentives and what not he ended up getting paid a little over 300K which he donated to charity.

Definately, going to have to check that store out more now.

Wow! The measure of a man/woman often comes to light by their willingness to part with money/their generosity. As far as CEO's go that one towers over most.

You would think that those with the most money would be the most generous. But I've found that the one's with the least tend to be. It says a lot about this man that he did this. He certainly does not suffer from the sickness of greed.

    Thanks for sharing!

He's done a lot of great things that I fully support (politically speaking). Sadly, we don't have a Whole Foods near here. But I do try to stop in everytime we visit my inlaws.

I use the regular coconut oil (with coconut flavor) to make granola and kettle corn too.
