Anti-aging facial creme, any good ones?
I'll be 34 in September. Bleh. I've always looked like I'm years younger than I really am. But as I sit here and stare at the reflection in my computer screen, I can see the aging. I can see the sagging in the front of my face from just under my eye socket to above my laugh lines. It's sort of depressing, really. I know I can't stop getting older, but I would really love to be able to age gracefully. A lot of women in my family do not do this. They go from looking 10 years younger to 20 years older in the matter of a year.
Does anyone know of a fantastic skin creme for combination skin with large pores that won't clog my face, but will tighten it and lift it and give it some elasticity?Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

I just turned 36, so I hear ya, girlfriend! Our skin just isn't what it used to be!! LOL!!
I just bought some Sensaria stuff and can't wait to start using it. It can be pricey, but they often run great sales. I love that its mostly natural & not a bunch of icky chemicals.
Also, I've noticed a DRASTIC difference in my skin (and wrinkles) ever since I stopped eating processed foods and switched to whole foods with a LOT more fruits and veggies (in the form of Green Smoothies).~Jessica

The funny thing about my diet is that I decreased the amount of fast food and eating at home, plus I increased my water intake. Still, my face has went from fab to not-so-fab in such a short time.
I've been looking. I'm debating between Olay Regenerist ( I tried a sample and it left my face feeling fabulous ), Garnier (I've used their moisturizer for a long time and I love how my face feels afterwards) and Nivea Expert Lift Day Care (because Nivea has some great lotions I've used and I'd love to try their skin care). I'll try the Nivea first and see what kind of results I get. I'd thought of getting collagen but I dunno if I can ingest something like that.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Welcome to the world of wisdom. Didn't anyone tell you all of the lines and such make you wise? No one told me, either. LOL!
I've aged a lot in the past year and I hate it!!! I guess it's the turning 50 soon thing going on with me. A few other things are falling apart, too.
Anyhow, I'm going to try this one. On Dr. Oz's show last week, they did a portion on aging and what can be done about it. They said that ANY cream that includes a substance called DMAE in the ingredients list is worth it. It is supposed to plump and lift the skin. They showed a before and after and I was greatly impressed. The only thing they didn't say is what brand of cream it was.
Good luck!Projects in Progress: quilt, bathroom rugs, knitting dishcloths

I did find this article that mentioned the creme:
Best Anti Wrinkle Cream Review - Revealed by Dr Oz on Oprah's Show
It was called Dermacai (Derm, which means skin, and Acai because Acai is one of the best anti-oxidant berries out there next to black currants and blueberries). The other thing he talked about was Resveratrol, which is found in red wine and in dark grape juice.
I'd like to start drinking some more grape juice and try to get in some Acai berry juice in there also. I'm not a huge fan of red wine, although I did try some before.
I did have plans to start exercising along with eating properly, but when I fell down the stairs, it really set my plans back a month. Starting this week, though, I plan on getting back into that. I drink as much green tea and water as I can.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

may i suggest to read (my bible!!!)
How Not To Look Old
there are tons of good tips in the book! i actually bought it on Amazon a few yrs back when i turned 39 and freaked out!
her other book
How Not To Look Fat
is also a fabulous read! not suggesting your fat or anything..i myself am a bit on the chubby side...but, there are lots of tips on aging in this book also!
i cleanse w/ Cetaphil which is very gentle. some days i dont even rinse w/ water (as water is drying) and just towel off w/ a soft towel. undereye area is a battle! i use Clinique All About Eyes as it is so creamy! no coverup undereyes...always use some sort of brightener...does wonders for your entire face...i recommend YSL (as does the how not look old book)
i for one LOVE primer! it takes years off of my face (imo...) i use laura mercier mineral primer. love the stuff! cant live without it!

Great thread - I need to use something regulary. Am not sure how it happened, but I don't have any wrinkles yet and I jsut turned 65 - is it possible I am only fooling myself? Seriously - okay I just tried different expressions in front of the mirror and can see laugh lines from my noes to my mouth - and then there's another one from the right side of my mouth going downwards. Not much else.

the not so frugal but wonderful Lancome renergie..... I would cut coupons til my hands were sore to justify being able to buy this stuff....It's the one place in which I splurge. My family now buys me gift cards for my birthday and Christmas so that I will get it for myself!

I use Lancome, too. And will surely never be rich because of it. sigh. The stuff lasts forever and my skin is soft and not dry. I love sitting at my vanity in the morning -- first the special eye cream then the magical serum (I'm never sure what 'serum' means exactly, lol) and finally the lotion with the sunblock factor. ahhhhhh
But it's very expensive. I keep a special saving account and buy refills less than once a year.

Will have to check that one out - can at least look at a skin regime that requires a special savings account!!

I looked at both price and availability and while Superstore had all three brands I wanted, I decided to go with the Garnier Ultra-Lift series. I purchased the eye creme, the day creme and the night creme and I'll be giving this a try as of tonight. I'm going to cleanse my face with some good soap, then apply some toner and add the night creme in. I'll use the eye creme during the day, along with the day creme.
I feel like I bought out the drug store aisle today.
I also got my EA Active 2 from my inlaws (that I somehow left there... it's a DURR moment for me) and I'll be hooking up the Kinect after the Grammy Awards. So starting tomorrow, I'll do some light exercising and make it a priority to drink TONS of water.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

I also have large pores and combination skin. I really like Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. I read about it in an article in Allure where they actually suggested it for it's anti-acne properties - retinol (one of the ingredients in this product) was original developed as an anti-acne product. I have noticed both a drastic reduction in my acne, and the lines on my forehead look less noticable. I'm only 32.
