Steals:
Witch hazel for toner when I need one (when I've had heavier makeup on).
Dove soap and a buff-puff for exfoliating.
NN vaseline for lips, soles of feet, sometimes hands (in the driest of winter, with cotton gloves over), cuticles, whatever.
I'm also a L'oreal Voluminous mascara lover.
Splurges:
I sometimes order some Savon de Marseille (French olive oil soap). It comes in big blocks and I cut it into bars....lasts forever. Wonderful stuff.
Lait Corporel body lotion in Fig scent. When I'm really feeling indulgent.
Taking baths---it uses way more water than showering, but less water than DH puts on the lawn in summer.
LOL! I

Here's some info on the benefits of a lemon drop facial. It's remarkable, try it once and you'll see. Skin soft as a baby's.
Alpha hydroxy acids are derived from fruit and milk sugars. The most commonly used alpha hydroxy acids are glycolic acid and lactic acid because they have a special ability to penetrate the skin. They also have the most scientific data on their effectiveness and side effects. The following are the 5 major types of alpha hydroxy acids found in skin-care products and their sources:
glycolic acid - sugar cane
lactic acid - milk
malic acid - apples and pears
citric acid - oranges and lemons
tartaric acid - grapes
AHA's can be used as water-binding agents in cosmetics, but are mostly used in modern cosmetics for their exfoliating properties and their therapeutic properties which help with and minimize photo damaged skin, which is a major contributing factor to ageing.
Apart from ridding the skin of unnecessary dead cells, they also have a moisturizing effect on the skin, by increasing the moisture content of the upper skin and so smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reducing dryness and combating flakiness.
Long-term use of low concentration AHA's can also increase collagen and elastin synthesis, and also boost protein regeneration in the skin.
They are also very effective in dealing with hyper-keratinization (over thickening of the skin), as well as increasing the epidermal thickness and have dermal glycosaminoglycans content.~~~

I had no idea they still made & sold a buff puff! I found it too harsh for my skin and now just use a face cloth.
I love Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - its a bargain for me since one big bottle can last for a LONG while. I only use it on my face both with and w/o water.
My Bargains: aren't really any bargains since there aren't any coupons for them here and they're just national brands sold in big box drug stores/pharmacy sections. However when I do get to cross the border to shop - Suave products find their way home with me THEN its a bargain
My Splurges: Aveda Damage Repair Leave In Conditioner. Having hair thats down to my butt (almost) no regular conditioner seems to work for detangling. This product though very budget unfriendly seems to work. I plan on continuing to purchase this until my wedding then cutting off my hair, donating it and then going back to regular conditioner for use in the shower - no 2nd conditioner will be needed
Other then that, I have stopped all purchases of HBA items and am working through my stockpile. I will only buy something if truly needed ie: toothpaste, qtips or mouthwatch etc. Everything else, I've got in the cupboard

Libby---the buff puffs I use are not the original Buff Puff brand. I never see those anymore. WM sells their own brand or a nn in the bath accessories area (back scrubbers and scrubby gloves, etc)or sometimes in the facial cleanser area......and Sally's has a 2 pack.
Can't remember what I paid for any of them, though. Not much. A lot less than scrubbing salts and sugars, and exfoliating cleansers! Both are the same as buff puffs brand. Tear-drop shaped, and same size and all that.
I kind of use the term buff puff like people say 'kleenex' for tissues, ya know? LOL.
I know what ya mean...you have to be gentle with those suckers, but nothing works as well for me. I'm smmmooooottthhh. LOL!
