My husband's been taking it for about 10 years with no side effects. I tried it earlier this year but noticed a dry cough that was irritating me. I now take HCTZ and a potassium supplement for my high blood pressure. Good luck getting your blood pressure under control. It is important.

I took it for almost ten years and it worked fine, no side effects really to speak of once I got used to it. One day it just quit working. Period. I guess my body developed an "immunity" to its effectiveness. So, that might be something to watch out for. I now take a different medication to control HBP that works well. Good luck.

I've been taking it for 6 months now...I have the dry cough side affect. I hate it...it's so annoying. It definately has gotten my BP under control.

I take it with no side effects. BUT if you or your loved one are taking it and have side effects you NEED to contact your doctor. There are MANY different BP meds and the doctor can give you samples to try until he/she finds one that works for you. This is not something to play around with!

It is really important to get your BP under control. I'm glad you are working on it. Years ago I used to use olive leaf and had stellar results with no side effects. If you can afford it it might be something to try if you are concerned about side effects.

Dh was just put on it a week ago. He is not having problems at all. After his prostate cancer surgery, his BP went up a bit and stayed up. Even on Toprol. So the doc added the new med.
