It's pretty much a plant base/Vegan diet. I try to eat how Dr. McDougall teaches. McDougall Program & Dr. McDougall's Health and Medical Center It's easy for me since I've been a Vegetarian for years anyway. I was a very strict McDougllar years ago. Most of my diet is starches, grains, vegetables, beans, and a little fruit.
It's just easier to read up on. Read the China Study. Potatoes (with no added fat) is loaded with vitamins, fills you up, and low calorie. It's totally opposite from low carb. lol Great for the heart! I'm not good at explaining so it's easier to read about the benefits of a plant base diet. There is tons of info out there.

Woohoo, we may have a cult here soon.
Definitely read "The McDougall Plan." Explains it all. You might like John Robbins books too. "Diet for America and The Food Revolution." His dad started Baskin Robbins ice cream. Eat to live by Dr. Furhman is good too or Dr. Dean Ornish.
Vegsource.com has a ton of info.

Watched the last heart attack and fat, sick and nearly dead. Both were great.
A mini update...I've lost 8 pounds so far. Definitely not as great as Gabe's loss, but I'm not hitting the gym for hours a day.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
