Thanks for the tip. I have started to use tea tree oil which also helps to get rid of bacteria.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. However, I thought spicy foods improved circulation? Why are they to be eliminated? I don't have acne; I was just curious as to why.

Have to also add that I have to be careful with what I eat. There are foods that I am intolerant to which makes me break out.

I use a dab of toothpaste, not the gel type, let it dry, before going to bed.

Thanks for the tip! I too am in my 30's and have been breaking out alot lately! It's worth a try. I wash my face with tea tree soap already and doesn't really make that much of a difference. I need to work on my diet as well...

Over the last 2 years I've started to get adult acne and lately it's been really bad. I've tried tons of different things, eating healthier, different/natural face washes, drinking more water etc. Nothing helped enough to clear me up. Last week I bought the Acne Free Sensitive skin care kit. WOW, what a difference. I've been using it for 6 days and already 99% of my face is clear and looking great. I recommend it. I've tried proactiv in the past and it did NOTHING for me.

Dermatologists first line of defense against acne is to prescribe an antibiotic. DD is on doxycycline for her acne. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, so it may have the same effects.

By the way, DD's dermatologist also told her to take a fish-oil capsule every day. She says there have been recent studies that show it helps with acne.

I know the regimine that DD uses has helped her acne IMMENSELY. But it also includes two prescription topical preparations in addition to the antibiotic and fish oil.

Over-the-counter acne treatments all contain the exact same active ingredients but in slightly different amounts. They would help DD for a month or two, then completely quit working and the acne would be as bad as ever.

Where do you buy tea tree oil at? I keep looking and can't seem to find it.

I have seen it at CVS. However I would recommend a health food store where you could buy organic. I just figure since I am using it on my skin it should be as healthy as possible. A little goes a long way. I also use it in shampoo in the winter time, as a disinfectant of surfaces.

Now I know for me I need to seriously watch what I eat. My acne is really caused by the foods I eat. And what I thought were cysts are really hives. So I take some benadryl and the next day they are gone. Pretty sad to realize it now after all these DECADES. Yup, am annoyed and can't help but wonder how many other people are out there thinking they have acne but really it is an allergic reaction.

    UGH!

Using baking soda as a scrub helps also. It opens the pores and helps keep the pimples from forming.

Does the baking soda dry your face out? How often?

Do you think it will going to help in Acne, since garlic produces heat and too much heat in body is gives invitation to other disease.

i mix baking soda w/ cetaphil once or twice a week and scrub my face gently (not around eye area of course).

use noncomogenic (sp?) facial lotion -Purpose. and the same for primer.

acne can sprout or resprout up at different times of our lives.

i am going to give the garlic/tea tree oil a shot also! but i am perienopausal and have an appt w/ a dermatologist (i had acne as a teen and used many different topicals and pills and then accutane....) it worked and i had perfect skin up until now...sad face...if acne is due to hormones, that is a whole different animal.
