Thumbs up I made a batch of the best feeling lotion tonite.....

I was in the Dollar General near me and I ran into a friend. She had her arms loaded up with baby lotion, vitamin E cream and vaseling. I said what cha' making. She said I make my own lotions. I just mix all this with the hand mixer and it's the only lotion/cream that I ever use. So I tried it. I spent $6 for 2 bottles, 1 huge jar and 2 small jars full and a little bit left over (probably about a 1/2 c.) that went into my almost empty Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion Bottle. At first when you put it on, it seems like it's going to be a little greasy but then it's not. Oh, my friend had baby lotion so that's what I got too and it smells wonderful! I also swapped out 2 jars of the vitamin e cream for the *anti-aging* cream (no explanation needed, right?   ). It's MUCH cheaper than those Bath and Body***** products at $10 for what...? 4 ounces or so? I got lots. Like a mixing bowl (the large one) more than half full. Lemme know if you try it or experiment and like/don't like. I had made that recipe a while back that went around for making your own lotion that had glycerin in it.....anyone else make that? I didn't re-do it b/c it was so expensive to make.

    I used:

2 Bottles of D.G. Baby Bear Baby Lotion
2 8 oz. jars of D.G. Collagen and Elastin Skin Cream
1 16 oz. jar of Family Dollar Vitamin E Skin Cream
1/2 of a 7.5 oz. jar of the D.G. Vaseline
I really, really love it. Feels sssoooooo good and seems to retain the moisturized feeling longer than lots of lotions.

Sounds like an easy recipe. May have to try it. I do have another one given to me by a friend. I bought everything in the local Family Dollar for about $8.00.
2 bottles of baby lotion or coco butter lotion depending on the scent you like.
2 tubs of vitamin E cream
    1 tub of vasaline

Cut lids off the bottles of lotion, put in mixing bowl with the tubs of vitamin E cream and vasaline. Mix with electric mixer until well blended and fluffy. Transfer back into tubs and other containers. Use on your severe dry skin.

Living in an area that is bitter cold and having to work outside with my animals and washing endless dishes my hands looked awful. Surprisingly this is not greasy. You will have plenty to last all winter and then some.

You can just use coconut oil or olive oil as lotion.

Sounds like a good recipe to try. I use olive oil at night - not greasy either.

I've used a similar recipe for the last few years.
    1 bottle of baby lotion
    1 jar of Vitamin E
    1 jar of vaseline
    2 tbsp of olive oil.

    Mix together.

I've had several surgeries including a hysterectomy...10" incision across my lower tummy...and because of the surgeries and being pregnant twice I have that tummy hang. I tend in the summer time or when I've been bending a lot working to get rashes in the scar area which sometimes could get very painful. Also I'm heavy up top and that too can cause rubbing and a painful rash. After I shower every morning I dry off well and I apply some of this lotion to both areas. Since I began using it I've not had a single rash...plus it smells really nice.

This is a good lotion for the elderly too. My fil was bed ridden for the most part and we used this on him. Also his hands would get rough and cracked. I made him up a batch and kept it to use on him. It healed his hands right up and they were smooth as they could be. He loved it when we put this on him...smelt nice, was soothing and of course he loved the special attention.

*I've got the fixin's on the kitchen table as we speak getting ready to make myself another batch.

Oh wow, I'm going to have to try some of these ideas. I have extremely sensitive skin and absolutely hate most over the counter lotions because they burn/irritate or are so sticky it makes me crazy.
