Default how to loose weight quickly?

My husband just got a new job, and I had to go do a personal wellness check today so we could lower our medical deductible. My cholesterol was high, and I know I weigh way more than I should.

My question is this, how can I loose around 15-20lbs in 1 1/2-2 months? We want to try to get pregnant with our 3rd and last baby in Feb. But I weigh 175lbs right now, I really want to get down to at least what I started at when I got pregnant with my twins and that was 160, but I prefer to be below that, maybe 150-155lbs. Is this possible?

What's the best way to do it? What exercise? Has anyone tried The 30 day shred?

What should I eat? I absolutely hate most veggies, unless canned or salads. I like canned green beans, and peas. I cannot stand frozen for fresh. Corn I like any kind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Too fast weight loss is not sustainable, nor healthy. . . however, you might check out the Johnson's up day, down day diet.

A crash diet to drop weight quickly doesn't sound promising b/c once you stop the diet, you'll gain it back (could be very quick too) and then some.

Plus if you're trying to get pregnant after you've dramatically dropped the weight, the sudden weight loss might trigger other health issues thus delaying your plans and attempts at getting pregnant.

Suggestions for starting: add a minimum 30 min brisk walk daily, monitor your portions, no 'white' (white pasta, white rice, white bread, sweets/granulated sugar etc), cut out soda/juice/artificial sweeteners - drink more water, cut fast food/take out, cut processed convenience heat and eat foods, no diet marketed foods (low fat, no carb/low carb etc), eat simply cooked whole foods and watch the sauces you're adding to the food - could be the equivalent of eating a chocolate bar with your meal but in condiment form.

If you're concerned for your health during your pregnancy and the health of your fetus, you're better off worrying about spending these two months eating well and exercising rather than trying to crash off 20lbs.

I used to be 200 pounds. I lost to my current weight of about 135 (was down to about 127 but have gained some weight over the past year--darn) over the course of about 3 years. I've kept it off about 4 or 5.

I'm 47 and started gaining weight in high school so I spent my entire adult life over weight and of course I tried EVERY diet.

From my experience I can tell you you can't have real, sustainable weight loss trying to crash lose it over the course of 2 months. I lost (on average) about 3 pounds a month.

My current weight loss goal is to lose 7 pounds by the time school lets out in June and a total of 15 by the end of the year.

You simply have to change your diet and start exercising. You will have to eat some of those veggies you don't seem to like too much and stay away from the corn. It spikes your blood sugar level--which makes you gain weight. Corn is a grain (like wheat) not a vegetable.

Thanks everyone. My glucose was perfect, which I was worried about since my biological dad is diabetic. I just want to be healthy, especially for my last pregnancy. I don't want gestational diabetes, I was on the verge of having them with my twins, so I want to prevent that this time. Thanks again, I appreciate it!!

I excerise by a program called Turbo Fire by the Beachbody and I love it. I have been doing it for four weeks now and lost five inches already. I don't weigh myself because I am getting muscles, but I am losing the body fat. I eat healthy and eat very little sugar. I will keep doing Turbo Fire as long as I can. I bought the program from ebay and it is a lot cheaper that way. It is worth the money.

The fastest I've seen anyone lose weight was when my neighbors did the P90X workout. They lost weight, toned muscle, and were overall healthier.

It's pointless, though, if you don't maintain in some way once you are done losing the weight.

I think 15-20 pounds in 1 1/2-2 months is not a good idea. I do have a friend who needed to lose weight quickly due to a medical condition. Her doctor put her on a high protein diet and monitored her on it. She lost about 15 pounds in a month. But remember: she was doctor supervised, and it was a medical necessity that she lose that weight as quickly as possible.

A pound a week is a much more sustainable and desireable goal. There are many ways to do this, but I'll tell about just one way that works for me. After you hear everyone's story, then you can decide what to try and see what works for you.

I do a modified Atkins diet: low carb and high protein. I have protein for breakfast (usually a piece of steamed fish), protein for lunch along with a small salad and no carb dressing, and then more protein for supper along with a salad and veggies. The first week that I did this, I lost 8 pounds, but then it tapered down. What I like about this diet is that I am never hungry, that I can do this well both at home or eating out, and I don't have to count calories. There are lots of different kinds of protein available: eggs, cheese, fish, poultry, beef, pork..... I have felt so good, and have loads of energy. I may go off it for a while, but never very long. It's good that I don't desire sweets, but I do enjoy bread, so that is my main temptation.

Be careful of a common misconception: peas and corn are starchy vegetables and are not good for a low carb diet. Stick to salad greens, cruciforious veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and celery and carrots.

I wish you the best! May you have a healthy new year!

Bunnys THANK-YOU! I think you just answered my question about why my weight loss has slowed down. I've been on a strict diet by the naturopath, but I've been woofing down dried fruit. Think dates, prunes, apricots. I bet I'm raising my blood sugar too much and it's affecting my weight loss. I'm off corn too...but have been most of the time.

Bingo - dried fruit is worse for you then juice apparently - in terms of glucose. However dried fruit is better for you vs baked goods, candy etc b/c its still a fruit and has fibre. You just can't eat a lot of it at once. Have you googled each dried fruit you eat to see what is considered a 1 carb portion? That may help you scale back so you can still enjoy

I've had luck with low sugar, grain & gluten free. Eat coconut milk and use coconut oil to help curb cravings for sweets. Eat good eggs and good quality meats (paturered or grass fed or lean conventional)

You are a perfect age to control weight, have the desire, and the desired weight loss is not too extreme.

Three months or about two pound per week is enough of a weight loss. I lost 21 pounds from 210 to about 189, and kept it off. This in about three to four months.

First I quit buying sugar and don't eat any desserts, except berries with skim milk. Best to avoid if possible. It was not difficult for me, since I seldom ate desserts, but used sugar on everything.

Then change your diet completely. Here is how I do it.

My Juicer. Believe it or not I got mine for nothing. My son brought it to me from a friend who didn’t use it. At first I was not impressed, since I had a centrifugal juicer years past and found it such a misery to clean that I gave it away, also it didn’t leave enough of the microscopic fibre.
    ChampionJuicer.com | - Champion Juicer | Plastaket Mfg.
These units have to be heavy. (The cheap plastic is junk.) I keep mine on a table in the dining room and move it into place in the kitchen as required. The Champion appears to be indestructible, and does a marvellous job, and is easy to clean. I am finding more uses for it as I get more experience.

Usually depending upon the product I cook the product and beat it into a mash Lancaster 1-Speed Hand Blender | Canadian Tire then strain Strainers-Juicers - Endurance Stainless Steel Food Mill then put the residue from the strainer through the juicer, not always depends upon the produce. Then if there is enough I pressure can for storage, otherwise it is put in the refrigerator for immediate use. Samples:

For making juice raw, I simply beat the product into a juice in the blender.I use whatever is available. You get all the fibre this way. This is a raw product, but I feel a lot must be lost digesting, but at least one can ingest a lot of fresh produce. It will keep in the refrigerator if sealed for about 8 days. Sample. I prefer the cooked and strained..

I might add making these products a portion of your diet, weight control is easy and weight loss is relatively rapid at first even without noticing, since appetite is reduced. And certainly one is getting all the necessary nutrients. My view is there is no sense losing weight by dieting and still eating the same food that made one heavy. Further there are few people in our modern society, who do not have a weight problem. I do eat some normal food on festive occasions. When sort of hungry, simply have a glass of juice, mix in a glass if necessary to improve flavour if this is a big issue with you. I am full of energy and very active. More so after losing the weight. With experience, I have ascertained that one can preserve almost any fruit and vegetable, only limited by the availability and imagination.

Have lost a bunch of weight by eating lean meats, vegetables and fruit. I do not eat or drink the following: products containing flour or dairy, hydrogenated oils and high-fructose sugars. Personally I think I am intolerant of flour and dairy. It was difficult at first to get used to. Now I really do not have the strong cravings for junk food as often. Once in a while I do crave some type of junk food which I will eat a little of something. By eating this way and walking each day I lost 20 lbs in about 2 months. Yes it may seem like a lot but I think alot was do to inflammation because of intolerances to different foods. Also was able to break the cycle of feeling hungry all the time because of some of the junk I was eating.

Try concentrating on losing the weight first. When I first started losing weight a few years ago it took three months before I saw any result. I think putting to much pressure on yourself when losing weight can set you up for failure.
