Healthier/Wealthier New Year
It has been a little over a year since the doctor told me I had to go on diabetes meds and I said no and to give me 90 days. In the first 90 days I lost 25 lbs. and got my blood sugar back in the normal range. In the next 90 days I lost 11 more lbs. I have been maintaining my weight since then.
Okay, I slacked off a little over the holidays. I gained a few lbs. back, but I am back on track. I went to the doctor today and my blood sugar is perfect and my blood pressure was great. The doctor was very pleased and was shaking his head at the fact that I did what I said I would and I am NOT on diabetes meds.
Then I got an email from a friend asking me to write something for her website regarding getting healthy - WOO HOO! THEN I got a phone call from some guy friends that have an independent motorcycle shop asking me to come in this afternoon and discuss working for them. Hubby and I both own and ride Harleys.
I have all the background needed for the job, some ideas on increasing their business, AND they know I have my own business and said they wouldn't have a problem with me handling my online business while working for them! The shop is only a couple of miles from my house too!
I will report back on the job later. I am off to take an order to the post office and then to my interview.
It's a new year and it has to be better than last year!Mary

The job is a done deal! I started training yesterday. With my background and computer knowledge the job will be a snap to learn. The hardest part will be learning the inventory part numbering system; but it is mostly common sense.

AND a possible cash job to let out three dogs, play with them for a few minutes and give them a treat M-F. Close to home, on the way to the PT job, etc. Things are coming together. Thank you Lord!

No secrets or tricks! I started using Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com to track my food and exercise. FIRST you need to know how many calories you are taking in before you can adjust. Also relearning portion sizes is important. I started out weighing and measuring everything. I also drink lots of water.
Then I started using my treadmill 5 days a week. In the beginning I could only do a few minutes. I gradually added time, speed, and incline.
I didn't go on any fancy diet program/plan, buy special food, etc. I altered many of my existing recipes to make them healthier. I found new tasty healthy recipes. I added more fruit and vegetables.
I did pretty much cut out Dr. Peppers. I still have one occasionally.
I still eat things that I love. I just don't eat them as often or in large quantities. Basically, it's everything in moderation.
I made a lifestyle change. I did NOT go on a diet.
