Question Does anyone wear contact lenses?

Do you like them better than glasses? How long have you worn them?

I looooove mine--my glasses are always so heavy and uncomfortable. I've been wearing mine for almost 17 yrs.

I used to wear them, but my eyes are so dry all the time now that they are just too uncomfortable to wear any more.

I have worn them off and on for 16 years. More on than off. I love my contacts and only wear my glasses right before bed and before my morning shower. I took a 4 year break from wearing them when I was diagnosed with astigmatisms (sp) in both eyes. I just couldn't handle the hard lenses the eye doctor put me in. The old torics (sp) didn't work well for me either. I started rewearing contacts two years ago and now wear disposable torics. I love them. They are so much thinner than they used to be and I love that I get to throw them away once a month and use a fresh pair.

That's me too! Not enough natural tears in my right eye anymore, left is ok, but the right I have to literally put drops in every 5 min., just isn't worth it. I wore them for 20-25 years before I gave up.

Chelle, next time you go to Walmart or any eye place, try the ultra thin lenses. Just ask to try them on, you wouldn't believe the difference. If I had the standard plastic lenses in mine they would be coke bottles! These are super thin and very comfortable. I sometimes fall asleep with them on, so have them on for 2 full days and they don't bother me!

i have worn contacts for 16 years now. i like them soooo much better than my glasses. my glasses were very very thick up until a few years ago. then i got the feather weight ones (?) from walmart. they were pretty expensive, but worth it. i think they ended up costing a little over $200. i don't wear them much though.

i have worn both in the past. right now i just wear glasses. i don't work for an eye doctor anymore so i don't get the contacts at cost anymore so i haven't bothered to go and get them again. since moving to CT i haven't even thought about getting them because i know it would kill me to pay the inflated price for them compared to what i used to pay. i'm even waiting for a trip to VA to get a new pair of glasses unless the vision plan for dh's comapny has improved since last year.

Iwear both. Most of the time, if I know I have a ton of computer or paperwork to do, I will wear my glasses to work. My glasses are bulky even though they are the light-weight ones.

I used to. I was very nearsighted and had an astigmatism. Both dh and I had the LASIK correction done. I am so pleased with the results. It was an adjustment for me to be able to read the alarm clock when I woke up and didn't need to reach for my glasses first. I actually tried to grab them out of habit for a few days.

Best thing we have ever done! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Yes even with it being so expensive.
