The Firm videos?
Has anyone tried these? They seem to be everywhere, but I am not sure how difficult they are. I'm definitely a beginner and looking for low impact.

I have done a couple and they are HARD! Very effective though. I did a couple years back when I was in good shape (jogged 3 miles/day, etc). I don't think I would be able to do it now....but I hope to get there again!

I have the new set of these videos, and they are to me like boot camp

But I love them so much they are very effective and the time does go by rather quick..The ab tape wasn't very impressive however...so I just stick to doing pilate's for that body part

I've ordered these, the new ones with the little step thing. I was impressed by their infomercial, and ordered them with some money I got for Christmas. I'll let you know, but it sounds like they might be kind of hard core (I hope not), I'm kind of in the beginner's stages myself
.

Oh belinda, just start out with no weights like they suggest and you should do fine..
I started out using the weights and sometimes weights that are a little heavier than they suggest, only because I've been lifting weights since my junior year of highschool so it was easier to work that in at the start...but the hard part comes in where they work in different moves...like instead of just going up and down they do up half way and stop, then to the top, repeat repeat etc.. then they do ones where they come up and pulse at the top for three repeat repeat etc...I wasn't really used to that kind of a workout and neither were my muscles...but I LOVE a good challenge

I ordered these because my muscles are like over cooked noodles
. And I've read so much about losing muscle mass as we grow older and also about how developing your muscles will burn more calories, something about muscles using more fuel? Anyway I really need work on my stomach, I tend to carry my weight there, and I do have some lower back problems that I know could be solved with some firmer muscles in my tummy!

well, no offense to anyone that likes these workouts BUT
mine are going right back where they came from.
I am sorry, but there is no way my body is doing pushups and bouncing all over the place that fast.
Maybe when I was 20 yrs old, but at my age ummm no. And I took dance from the time I walked all through highschool. (jazz, tap, ballet, and baton)
Bye bye The Firm dvd's. Maybe 10 yrs ago, but not today. I just bought the firm tapes, and I love them. I am in pretty good shape, I love advanced step aerobics so I found it a bit slow, but the fanny blaster was awesome. My legs felt like jello and still do LOL. I couple this with a 11/2 mile brisk walt every morning. Hopefully the added weight training will help boost my metabolism. I highly recommend them they are definitely no Denise Austin.
