Do you have a hard time not drinking soda?
This is my biggest obstacle-hands down. I love water, but I still want to drink a lot of pop everyday. I am hooked on Mountain Dew, Coke, and Pepsi. How do you guys keep from drinking pop?

There is less caffeine in most teas, drink it instead..... It will help with the addiction and start to wean you off, just dilute it a little more as you go..... It's an addiction so it's tough but you can do it !!!!!!!!!!

OMG this is my biggest down fall, i usually buy 2 cans per day and have just that, I bought a 12 pack today and it is almost gone. It is more expensive buying it singlely but it saves on over drinking it.

I have really cut down on the amount of soda I drink, I dont know how but I have. I guess the truth is I dont have the time and sometinmes the money to drink it. I have been drinking more water than I ever have in my life! When I am on Adkins, I am so thirsty. I dont like co9ke, I like pepsi, and they only sell coke at work so that helps me I guess. I wonder how it will be tho when it is hot again?

I just gave up all sodas last Saturday. I was drinking 4-6 Dr. Peppers a day.
I haven't had one in over a week. I've been drinking water and decaffeinated (sp?) Lipton ice tea. I sweeten my tea, can't stand it unsweetened. Sodas are so bad for our bodies. They throw your Ph levels out of whack leaving your body open to illness and disease. I had a stubborn headache for 4 days afer I quit but it's finally gone and I feel like a new person. Oh and I've dropped 5.5 pounds too without even trying. I didn't change anything but the sodas.
Giving up the sodas is hard work but it's possible. Best wishes!!

I am addicted to Coke. I can drink 1 or 2 2L bottles a day. I haven't really found a foolproof way of kicking the habit completely. I am drinking more tea since it's cheaper.

Thanks Carolyn!
How did that big visit with the diabetes doc go? Did you post about it and I missed it.
Wouldn't be the first time.

I do drink soda, but I try and limit it to 1 tall glass of diet sprite with dinner. Maybe you could just try and cut down a little at a time until you are at what you consider to be an acceptable amount? I don't believe in depriving yourself, it usually just leads to a binge.
