I go to what my dh calls "The Local Hippy MArket" Mountain Mama's. Try a local natural foods market. Or a local um....what are they called? Um they sell medicinal herbs. Like lavendar, rosehips etc etc to make teas with, potpourri and such...there's a name for the stores. They are often run by a person knowledgeable about what herbs are safe for what person, etc.

Our health food store has good ones and so does GNC, but they are expensive. I've found the best deals online, even after you pay for shipping, they are still cheaper than buying them around here!

    Hi mommytrap

You will find a huge variety of prices on EOs depending not only on the type of EOs you buy, but also the quality of the EOs you are buying. I was a massage therapist for 7 years, so I have bought quite a few- hopefully this helps....

IMHO choose the cheaper brands if you are using EOs to scent household cleaners save the expensive ones (and brands for yourself).

Top notes like citrus flavors are soooo nice and uplifting, many are inexpensive, but the smell doesn't hang around for long. Grapefruit seed extract is really powerful stuff and I would read up on that before you use it (though I would expect you to use that on your person more than in a cleaner).

Some oils (such a rosemary) are VERY strong and should only be used on your person while diluted in a carrier oil. Otherwise they can burn.

Remember that a little EO goes a long way. Start out with a few drops and then add more if you need to.

I'm curious to know what kind of cleaners you are making... i bet they will smell amazing.

I have purchased decent EOs from GNC for a good price. As for the best place to buy online, I would follow the cheap rule if you are using them for cleaners, but if you think you might use them on yourself look for more quality.... That's just my opinion.

I have purchased some (quite a while back) on ebay! It was a good price, even with shipping.

My local health food store has some, but not all.

TeaTree oil you can find at your local walmart in the pharmacy. I love it and get it there all the time. Great stuff.

Thanks for the tip! I was hoping that would be the case!

All different ones honestly! I have been compiling a list recipes to try. One I use for an All Purpose cleaner is very basic:

    1 c. water
    1 c. vinegar
5- 10 drops EO of choice I have been using Tea Tree since I have it.

I use it to clean my Kitchen counters, sinks, floors, bathroom. I sprinkle baking soda in the sink or tub then spritz this AP cleaner and scour with a green scrubby. Works great!

    Hey MommyTrap,

You inspired me so I put baking soda in my drains, added some vinegar and waited. Then I boiled water on my stove with vanilla extract (not an EO, but smelled nice) and poured it down my drains. House smells nice!

    rainbow meadow
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Brambleberry is where I get mine. They gave me a free sample with the order. It was my first order. I made soap for Christmas. The price was pretty good.
