Default Dh and I are shaking up our meal time routines......

We've decided for health('s) sake to start eating our big meal at lunch time. It's going to be really hard for me because I've always cooked dinner at about 6 p.m. . We've normally eaten our big meal for the day at 7 p.m. . Ugh.....my whole routine for the day is going to be out the window but I know it will be better for us all the way around to eat earlier in the day and just to have cereal or fruit for dinner. Today we started with roast, potatoes, squash, broccoli and cheese and gravy. I had to start cooking lunch at 9. That's such a switch for me. I hope I can adjust my mindset to this new routine. Any tips?

I think if it were just Steve and I,I'd like to have our big meal at lunch. It would take some adjusting to,but I think I would like it better.

We have had to eat earlier on Monday and Wednesday because of his training. The kids ask "Why are we eating so early..." LOL

    Good Luck Lisa!!

don't know if it's helpful but dh and I have always done our dinner at 415. He normally comes in the door at 4 pm, and I slap dinner on the table by about 4/;15 or 4:30.

We are done by 5pm, and go to bed 3 to 4 hours later at about 8:30 to 9. We don't usually eat after that meal.

It's worked well for us for years. I know I have a hard time sleeping if I eat later, either heartburn or an uncomfortable feeling of still digesting a lot.

I haven't been able to do the main meal at lunch, on weekdays, but we often do that for our weekend meals on Sat Sun or holidays and I really like the way it makes us feel.

You go girl, I think it's a great idea.
