Talking some helpful thryoid article links

I've found some useful articles in various spots that may help anyone else either struggling with thyroid problems, low energy, weird hormone levels and the like.

Can be quite frustrating but the more knowledge, the more power and control a person has.

So from Hyster Sisters site in the articles section; http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsarticle.php?id=97224 here is Janie's thyroid story.

You too can enjoy the tales of someone else's thyroid!!! LOL only those with necks blown up like bullfrogs in the swamp in full booming song can truly enjoy a thyroid tale, but there are more than one of us here whose neck size fluctuates or whose energy wobbles.

Reading on: This time it's Thyroids and HRT which is short for hormone Replacement therapy (patches and pills and creams to recharge your estrogen/progesterone and EVEN your testosterone!!!! levels) http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsa...hp?s=&id=97225

Here is a complete listing of links to all the articles in the hormone jungle area of Hyster sisters articles. http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsl...s=&forumid=174

Here is Thyroid 101 from Mary Shomon at about.com's thyroid area which is very very helpful http://thyroid.about.com/blthyroid.htm

15 Ways to feel well and live well with hypothyroidism http://thyroid.about.com/cs/hypothyroidism/a/15ways.htm

Endocrinologists Say TSH Normal Range is Now 0.3 to 3 which is an article on the new lab values. Lots more people who used to be told they were simply low normal are clinically hypothyroid and SHOULD be being treated. http://thyroid.about.com/cs/testsfor...a/newrange.htm

and here is Mary Shomons site. If you can avoid the constant infomercials for her books and vitamins, it can be useful

    http://www.thyroid-info.com/

Her Q+A section is the most useful down at the bottom left, but here is a link to a lot of the articles. http://www.thyroid-info.com/askexpert.htm

the Thyroid Foundation of Canada is also quite useful: http://www.thyroid.ca/index.html

Would you like to "red flag" your thyroid before seeing the doctor? A new thyroid assessment questionnaire (TAQ) makes the right diagnosis of thyroid function in 74% of cases. The TAQ helps to determine whether you have a normal, low- or high-functioning thyroid.

The Thyroid Association of Canada developed the TAQ along with the help of many professionals. It's already proven to be a useful tool for doctors and patients to pinpoint thyroid disease.

get the quiz here, you sign up for it, and they send it to you. http://www.canoe.ca/Health0002/03_jones.html
