wisdom tooth=dry socket...anyone?
Looking for someone to make me feel somewhat better......had my wisdom teeth out and now have a dry socket. And the packing stuff they use is going to kill me!! It tastes like clove and I hate clove!! UGG!! Mentholated food...yum! So...how long is this going to taste terrible and how long will it still hurt (not as much as it did but still hurts a little) that's my question. I'm driving my poor dh batty with my whining....so please allow me to jump in and whine!

Brokemom, it doesn't last too long (a few days as I recall but it's been YEARS) and the socket will start to scab over again and then it won't hurt when you drink or eat. Just don't suck on a straw really hard or you'll suck those scabs (Ack!) out again and you'll have to start all over. Hang in there, it does get better.

What she said
hugs!
and if you can't handle the cloves try a dot of tea tree oil instead applied with a Q tip to the site. But not enough to swallow, it's not to be taken internally.
