Waking up around 2:30 am
Just about everynight I wake up around 2:30 to 3 am everynight. Does not matter what time I go to sleep. Once i wake up I cannot get back to sleep. Tired of being tired all the time. I have tried reading a book, watching tv, anything to get back to sleep. This has been going on about 3 years. I don't want to start taking medication and becoming dependent on the medicine. Does anyone have any suggestions? I hate waking up early because during the day I sometimes get crabby or have to watch what I say because I am so tired. Thanks. Renee

If I were you I'd talk to my doctor. If it weren't bothering you it would be one thing but since your lacking in your sleep it should be looked into. Hope your sleeping like a baby and doing so all night long, soon.

Some questions....how much caffeine do you ingest? Do you get regular exercise most days? Do you take naps during the day? Are there things that are weighing heavy on your mind? Any of these things could affect the quality of your sleep. I'm a person who sometimes has difficulty getting to sleep. I sometimes wake in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep because my mind is racing with things to think about. What helps me, is no caffeine, a 30 minute walk most days and no naps, even if I am really tired. I'm also more of a night person, so it is more of a challenge for me to sleep like my husband, who is a day person. Good luck to you, though. It's hard to be sleep deprived!

A quickee remedy might be some Valerian tea - It will relax you and put you straight back to sleep and if you are stressed about something it should help calm your nerves!! Its at the Grocery store in the traditional medicinals teas. Perfectly safe!!

Yep, I agree with the above + get yourself into a regular sleep routine. work out a sleep ritual that works - a warm bath, hot milk, reading before sleeping, whatever it is, but stick with it. Our body's thrive on routine, if you train your body to expect sleep when you start up your warm bath or hot milk routine it generally will sleep. good luck!
