I used to have this tea tree oil stick...
... it was a little stick something like those sticks you buy to dab on stuff to make mosquito bites stop itching. (a pen-shaped thing with a felt pad on the end)
Anyways, this was used to fight blemishes, and it worked like a charm. If I felt a blemish coming on, a few dabs of that would clear it up the same day. Anyways, I haven't been able to find any more of those sticks, and was wondering if I can just use regular tea tree oil from my health food store on a q-tip and get the same results? Or do you think it was diluted somehow? TIA!

amy, we sell tea tree oil in our store and it's great for blemishes, cut and rashes. The oil usually comes in two strengths here. One is pure oil and the other is 15% oil. I use the pure oil but if you find that too strong for you, you can water it down a bit by using a wet Qtip dipped in the oil.

Burt's Bees sells a product like this. It's called the Herbal Blemish Stick and has these other ingredients:
Herbal extracts and essential oils correct imbalances that create breakouts. .30 fl oz.
Ingredients:
SD alcohol 40-B (from yellow corn), calendula flower oil, borage seed oil, yarrow oil, parsley seed extract, willow bark extract, lemon oil, fennel oil, water, tea tree leaf oil, juniperus communis fruit oil, eucalyptus globulus leaf oil.
It costs $8.00. The Co-op I order my grains from orders from Ozark and Frontier. Frontier carries the whole line and I can get any of the Burts Bees for half price. Anyone can order from Frontier but you have to order $250 to get the free shipping; otherwise its UPS rates plus a $2.50 handling fee. Our co-op ususually gets the free shipping rates.

Tea Tree Oil is one of the few essential oils that you can use "neat" (undiluted). Lavender is another one which is also good for blemishes.
Do a patch test on an area of your skin that is not irritated to make sure you do not have a reaction as some people with sensitive skin may do.

Thanks, everyone! I thought I could use it straight, but wanted to check first. Next time I get down to the health food store I'll pick some up.
