Angry I'm feeling a little down

I started my quest to lose weight and get in shape last Monday.  I started going to the gym and walking, doing weights, plus exercising here at home.  I have cut out regular sodas earlier this year.  Drinking about 1 diet soda a day.  I have added more water!!  I am eating better and less. My clothes are fitting more loose so I know its working, but still no weight loss.  I'm just feeling like it will never happen!!  I really would like to see those numbers go down!  I'm really commited to this and I'm not going to quit trying, but do you all have any tips.  It was also that time of the month the past few days, so that may be part of it too.  Just needing some motivation!

Gretchen I understand how fustrating it can be. When we are serious about losing weight, it's tough when it's not as quick as we want...Don't discourage yoruself. Your on your way to a healthier YOU. I know you will make it. One little step at a time.

I'm trying to do the same thing. I told myself that I want to lose one pound a month this year. I won't expect anything more per month, and will try not to get discouraged if it stays at that one pound. Kind of a little psychological trick I'm trying to play on myself. Hope it works! I have been sitting at the same weight for years now, my body must like being there. But, the eating less, drinking more water, and regular exercise is healthy for me even if I don't lose quickly. So, good luck to you!!! I wish you the best.

Remember that when your doing weights, walking and gym, you will be gaining muscle which is great. Don't get discouraged, the weight will come off. Has long as your clothes are getting loose thats what counts.

Keep with your plan. It is working!!

Keep a positive attitude Gretchen, the weight will come off, slowly but surely. Sounds like your doing everything right, drinking more water, eating less and better foods, exercising--your setting a great routine for yourself. Have you taken your measurements? Sometimes that's a better way to see a loss than weighing yourself. I would pick one day a week to measure and weigh yourself and see what your progress is.

Keep posting, we'll keep you motivated for sure
