Cool So we hvae a deal!

My dh and I were talking last night about me doing the cancer walk.

He said that he'd like to see me lose 15 pounds by then. and however many inches that may take.

So we have a deal. I will lose the weight and do the walk.

He also said that I am in a better mood this week. I've been pretty down (started thinking about my looks and how icky it is). I am more approachable and outgoing.

He really wants me to do the walk because it is a big step in my becoming more comfortable in my own skin (HIS WORDS). I would never in a million years done something like this a few years ago. But I am really excited.

We discussed the entire weekend of the walk. Starts on the Friday night with a big ceremony and party checking in and tent schedules and all. Saturday breakfast and more ceremonies and the first 30k. end of the day there is a big dinner and party (also access to massage and chiropractic, etc...), sunday is the finish with an even bigger party.

    I can't wait.

ok I could go on and on....

Congrats on doing the walk, but why does it matter to your dh if YOU lose 15# and then do the walk?? It's your person that is accomplishing both of those goals, he really has nothing to say about it.

That is not meant as a critisim or a put down in any way please don't read anything into it... I just want to try and understand you point of view

I just see it as a team effort for me to get down to where I need to be.

we are both really honest about everything (yep he tells me if I look fat in something)

he is a ton of support and to me its a challenge. I might even get some new lingerie over it lol.

I don't take offense at all. We have both had a really bad year - both diagnosed with depression. this is part of our healing together. being able to say things to each other that before we wouldn't.

I am taking it as a challenge and the walk is kind of a reward. I think. I don't know how to say it . lol I have it all reasoned out but can't figure out how to put it in words.

    maybe some more motivation

Maybe what he means is, he wants you to lose 15 pounds by the time you do the walk, so it'll be easier on you-your joints, etc. You won't get as fatigued carrying around that extra weight.

But, I think no matter what, you should do the walk no matter how much weight you lose by then.

Keep us posted on your training schedule and progress!
