    Default Anyone use a pedometer?

Just wondering if any of you have gotten on the "pedometer craze" yet? The local health dept is sponsoring a 6mo fitness program using them. This is their second year and they have had over 500 people sign up.

I and some of the wives from my dh's work are doing it as a group. When we signed up we could do either groups or individuals. We had so much interest we did a group and its helping us keep each other motivated. Right now, I am not doing much but tracking steps I walk during the day. I try to remember to park a little farther from the store, etc to get more steps in. Guess I could say "waddles" lol.

Forgot to say that right now, I am just doing it for exercise, but after the baby I will be doing the walking for exercise and weight loss.

I just got one and will be starting to use it once I can really begin to walk again. Have to figure out how to put it on right though.

    WTG Melody on using yours.

I put mine on in the morning when I get dressed. Same time I put my watch and rings on. I am one of those people who feels "naked" without a watch, so that works for me lol

I have 2, but have never used them.

I like your idea Mel of putting it on when you put on your watch. That's a great idea.

I got one through my work at the hospital. I take about 7000 steps a day!! My goal is 10,000 but until the weather gets decent I am NOT walking outside!

    What an awesome idea.
Wish something like that would happen where I live... this city is SO fat it's disgusting.

I used to use one as I'm an exercise freak - tho I can be a tad lazy at times :-)

I ended up chucking it when I realized it wasnt working cuz I was putting on more than 3 miles (1 mile is about 2000 steps) a day... and it started saying I was only doing about 3/4 of a mile in one day! LOL

There was just no way... especially since I'd not changed my routine!

I do recall McDonalds giving those away to try to start their "healthy" line of foods (read as: new salads). But that died super fast.

    WTG Arlene and Missy.

I have a little notebook that I am tracking my steps and miles in. My pedometer isn't anything fancy. It just tracks the "jiggles" when I step. Its probably not that accurate. I want to get a real one soon.
