who has kids in sports?
not sure if i should put this here or in family so move it if needed
who has kiddos in sports, and what sports are they playing?
my 2 kids are playing soccer this spring. they are in 2 different age groups so they are on different teams. 3 nights and 1 morning are taken up by practices right now. could be a bit of a juggling act when we get the game schedule
dh is also the uniform manager for baseball. the next 2 saturdays are uniform issue days, and then after that we will have boxes sitting in our front room filled with uniforms for make ups of those kids that couldn't make it to their issue time slot.

I do.
DS#1 only plays golf. He likes the lazy man type of sports.
DS#2 plays baseball in the summer, football in the fall and runs track in the spring. He plays with his jr. high, except the baseball. He used to play year round baseball but it became too much. Next year he will be in high school and said he wants to play tennis instead of running track.
DS#3 only plays summer league baseball with the community.
I let them pick and choose what they want to participate in. If they don't want to play anything, well that is ok too. I don't want to push them into anything they will hate and then resent me for it. As you can see only one of the boys actually likes athletics.~*Michelle*~

Son 10 plays hockey and baseball, he might try football this fall. DH coaches the goalies and just enerally hangs out at the rink. I work nights so DD #1 (7) and DD#2 (4) hang out at the rink a lot too.
DD#2 wants to play t-ball this year so that will be fun too.

My kids are only allowed to participate in one sport per season. Right now they've chosen AYSO soccer (American Youth Soccer Organization), which has a 6 week season in the fall and then 6 weeks in the spring. They have one practice and one game per week.
This winter dd partcipated in a 6 weeks basketball clinic run by Community Educ. It was for one hour on Saturdays. Ds is in a 6 weeks Sports Sampler class at the YMCA that meets for 45 min. each Wed.
In the summer they'll do swimming lessons.

ds1 plays football in the fall and track in the spring. Although in our town, football is a year round deal with lifting and speed training and other clinics. Ds2 plays football in the fall, flag football in the spring, and baseball in the spring/summer. DS3 is playing tball. He is not old enough to play football yet.

DD is on the Y volleyball team --- or will be when this season begins. She has played the last two seasons and I enjoy it as much as she does, I think. Hopefully next year in Junior High she will be chosen for the 7th grade team.
