Electronic air cleaner/filter????
I originally posted this at Home Environment, but thought maybe it should go here instead.
DH and I have been suffering all winter with a cough that is worse when we are at home. I've been considering getting one of those room air cleaners (with a filter?), but wouldn't have a clue what to get. Do any of you have one of these gizzmos? If so, do you like it? Any advice/recommendations as to brand, size, etc? Thanks in advance for any input as to your experience!~~Jean~~

We have 3 actually. One is an older model Kenmore that we keep in the basement, mainly because it's a noisy one. We also have two Quiet Flo air cleaners on the main floor of the house. I could not make it without my air cleaners. When you see the yuck that is on the filter you know just how much they are working.
I would recommend getting one at a store where you can return it if it's not to your liking.

We have a high efficiency air filter on our furnace/air unit but I've been considering one of those ones that you just wipe the metal thing off ...... kwim? I've had the ones that have filters before and we have one at dh's office. But I'd prefer one that you just wiped down once every few days. They ain't cheap though.

Thanks for the ideas. I didn't realize there were some with a filter and some without (the wipe-down type). I will have to do some shopping and see what I can come up with.
I have one of those super duper you-rinse-it-out blue filters on our furnace/ac, and it does get a lot of junk trapped in it, but I'm not sure it gets more than the regular disposable filters.~~Jean~~
