Default am I developing a sensitivity?

Over the past month I've noticed something strange happening after I clean or work in the garden.  I usually use homemade cleaning products but when I clean the sinks and shower I use a store bought scouring paste called Jif.  I've never had a problem with it before and I've never used gloves when I clean.  Recently, after I use Jif, I've noticed my hands get very itchy and red.  A couple of times I've had a line of water blisters on my fingers!

When I work in the garden now I've noticed I often have itchy arms and hands when I come inside again.  I wash my hands and arms with aloe vera soap and apply a soothing cream and it goes away.  I have to think it's from some of the plants I come in contact with.

Apart from occasional hay fever and asthma. I've never had a problem with allergies.  Do anyone else have a similar problem?  I'd be interested in hearing your symptoms and how you deal with it.  BTW, I'm wearing gloves for cleaning and gardening now.

My face especially get's puffy, my eyes water & I get stuffed up when I work outdoors. If I take an antihistamine like benedryl I feel much better. Something gives me a reaction but not sure what. I think I'm allergic to weeding.
Hope you can get a handle on it Rhonda.

I have a problem with anything. I break out from anything that scratches (just barely) my skin. Especially tough with gritty cleansers like that, they make my fingers and hands raw. Sounds like just gloves will help you!

I wear gloves (non - latex cause I have a sensitivity to latex) for everything. Contact dermatitis rules my world! Even some shampoos irritate my skin. Hence, the reason I try to use homemade soap.

I do that with some plants especially okra. I wear long sleeves and gloves...we also didn't plant okra this year.
