Question Have you let yourself go?

Appearance wise? My mom always warned me to take care of myself later and that I wasn't always going to be thin, wrinkle free, and no gray hairs. *LOL*
I'll admit I have packed on some pounds. (who knew I could get this heavy)
I don't think I have let myself get too terribly bad, but I am no fashion icon. *LOL* I am not at the point of wearing sweats daily, but I am into comfort. (ugh especially now that I am pregnant)
I am already so aware of how I would like to get on a good fitness plan after this little one is born. I am so aware of how my body looks and the changes I am going through during pregnancy and because of my age.
I guess I am doing ok for 32 yrs old, but I sure "ain't" what I used to be. How about you?

I guess Im the complete opposite......I used to be an ugly duckling...skinny lil frizzy haired kid...too poor to ever be fashionable
something clicked when I started having babies.....and especially now that I have four...I guess I just dont want anyone looking at me and saying.."poor thing"
anyway...I refuse to age gracefully LOL Im going to be one of those teeny lil old ladies you see....with the hair dyed jet black and the bright lipstick! heheheh

I have put on a few pounds of course...cant have four babies and breastfeed them without it doing ugly things to your body.....but I just call my stretch marks battlescars...put on my bikini...and wear them both with pride.....and I make a point to always pamper myself....whether it be to make sure I have on my mascara and lipstick every day...make sure Im properly moisturized.....as long as I TREAT myself as a Diva....then I FEEL like a Diva.....

Sorta--I do try, but age is taking its toll.

Oh yeah, I have definitely let myself go. And gravity hasn't helped much either, as my case of droopy booby syndrome proves!
On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

Yep, I am much larger than when we married! I try to make sure I at least look put together when I leave the house. I can't stand not to shower and wash my hair every day but, I don't always wear make-up, especially around the house. I do get my hair colored every five weeks. I am not ready for my grey hair!

What a *hard facing reality* question, Sara...sniff... lol!

Yes, I certainly took last place in my life for soooo long with the 4 kids coming into my life, BUT, a few years ago, I realized that I must take care of myself. I have to work hard at it, because I have a tendancy to easily *forget* my needs and caring for me...

I`ve gained weight, that`s for sure, BUT, I am working at losing the extra lbs. so I can feel more healthy and energetic!

I don't really think I've let myself go (though I've still got some baby weight from over 3 years ago that I would love to lose!), but I am in a place now where I am comfortable with myself. My lifestyle changed a great deal when I met dh - I was very much into clothes, makeup, etc. and he was very laid-back and casual (from all his years living in Hawaii). Clothes are no longer important (comfort is!), I rarely wear makeup, I take better care of my skin now (due to sun exposure) than I did in my teens and early 20's, etc.

Sort of. I have gained weight, of course, but I still wear make-up and always fix my hair before going to work or anywhere out of the house. I don't fix-up if I am staying home, though. It is usually sweats, no make-up, and hair in a ponytail if I stay home.

Yes, I've let myself go. I was very aware that I was very overweight but didn't realize that I never really fix myself up anymore until dh said something a few weeks ago. I wore a necklace to church and I haven't gotten out a necklace to wear in years; when I was changing after church dh asked me to leave the necklace on; he said it looked nice and sexy. I realized at that moment that I had really been letting myself go. I haven't taken any time with my hair or makeup (I only slap some on on Sunday or once in a while, and then not much), I never wear jewelry anymore or try to dress nice. Uggh, I turned into a real frump somewhere in the past 20 years I've recently started losing weight and checked out some books at the library on makeup and I've started going through my wardrobe and seeing how I can spruce it up some. I'm only 38 and I don't want to be a frump!

I guess you can say I've let my self go.But I'm trying to pick up the pieces.I started working out the first of the year and lost 30 lbs. since Jan(still need to loose 30)Now I can fit into my nice clothes but I still love to be in my sweats and shirts.I used to hardly wear makeup or really take care of myself(lotion, shower everyother day, pluck eyebrows like twice a year-i have brooke sheild eyebrows)But now that dd is getting older and aware of a lot more things I figure now is the best time to set a good example for her.So now I take care of myself, drink plenty of water, excercise everyday, wear makeup when I leave the house or if someones coming over, shower not once but twice a day(mainly cause I work out in the morning and shower after that and then one quick one before bed after a day of cleaning and playing with the kids out side)Now its funny that dd has to put lotion on everyday and wants to paint her nails all the time, she recently discovered body glitter!I think I have a Diva in the making
