Insulin Resistance- anyone else? I learned that my meds are working...
I was diagnosed last month with IR (insulin resistance) and borderline PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). I've been on Avandia ever since then for the IR and I take it before bed at night. I had noticed right away that it took away that shaky feeling I used to get if I didn't eat every couple of hours, but I hadn't thought much more about it.
That was until this morning, after having skipped my pill last night. Man, I feel rotten this morning. I can't get awake, I feel really grumpy, and I feel kind of woozy. (All signs of low blood sugar for me.) I took my skipped pill this morning and I guess it will kick in eventually. I'm just surprised at how different I feel. Who knew one tiny pill made such a difference?
I'm going to look up Avandia and see exactly how it works-- now I'm curious.
Anyone else on this med or dealing with IR?
