Ugh. Losing my motivation.
Ever since I got back from vacation, I have so not been motivated to lose weight. I got back down to my pre-vacation weight within the week and even lost .5 pound, but now I am SOOOO not interested. And I just completely screwd up my computer program by (guess what) a typo in my weight- I somehow made myself 100 pounds lighter and now the metabolism calculation is all screwed up. Ack.
What helps you when you lose motivation?

I am rarely motivated, but usually looking at myself in the mirror opposite the escalator going upstairs in the Bay dept store does it.
WHOOAAAAAAAAAA what an eyefull that is. Nasty! I can't fool myself at all when it's a store mirror.
SO fortunate we aren't a nudist society, that would be BLINDING!
However that aside, a quick trip to my bathroom scales usually keeps me in reality.
Hugs, it's a tough row to hoe!

I'ts helping me to remember the health sides of things. I'm trying to refit my mind that this is self nurture. Not self torture.

What works for me is to weigh in once a week. If I see the scale move in the opposite direction then I know I need to work a little harder on something.
Visually seeing myself in the mirror after stepping out of the shower is also an eye opener.
I get to see all the flaws and what a bit motivator that is!

Motivation is the first thing I lose. Have struggled with weight my whole life so I hear what you are saying. But you can do this!
Try to think of the health benefits and the great way you feel when you can zip up your skinny jeans! Hang in there!!! You are doing so great!!!

I agree. I think it's more helpful to focus on how your efforts are keeping your body healthy and strong.

I usually go to the mall and try on cute new clothes and look at myself in the blinding lights and most unflattering mirror ever made and walk past the perky high school girls and go home with new resolve.

I do this as well. I'm sure that's bad for many reasons. But it works for me.Originally posted by dndylfe

I also wrote down in my private journal 3 reasons why I wanted to lose weight. I read them often when I get unmotivated. I also give and take. If I don't excercise, I don't eat any food with too many calories.

I've lost my motivation as well since hurting my neck. And since it's gotten so miserably hot.....I had lost 10 pounds in June, and it's been so hot,I've been eating a tiny bit of ice cream here and there. You know...to keep cool
Hang in there. You've done so well.A little break is maybe what you need to kick it into higher gear
