Mental Health
I am a woman who is bipolar, and the mother of a one year old.I dont want to think of myself as mentally ill anymore because it is a bad way to go through life to perceive oneself that way.I have let anxiety and depression rule me for far too long,I had a bought with post partum depression and was hospitalized.I have been letting circumstances in my life bog me down so that I am in a pit of desparation, but now I think I am going to let that go.My doctor thinks I need to be mindful and through mindful meditation, which I used to do,I will be more present in my body and less in my mind less stuck in my thoughts therefore I will be able to be well just be.Life is a journey and I have been struggling on mine with demons of my own invention.Im not sure why I am posting this here I thought I would just let people get to know the person who is me,and that I want to change myself in this small fashion.

Lot of good things ahead for you Patty, your worth it. It's all about choices and choosing to let go is a good place to start. Holding on to negative things doesn't get you anywhere but positive good thoughts will. With your doctors help and guidance and your strong will you can do it.

Im really glad you shared this with us. I have been bipolar all my life. It really hit hard after the birth of my second child. I started taking medication for it when my son was 4 months old and have been doing really well.
I wish you much luck in your recovery and I hope you will continue to share your experiences with us as you progress.

Hi Kimberly-
im glad I shared too-It is a difficult thing to deal with as Im sure you know, but I think Im going to change my perspective and my medication change should help too.Im glad you are doing well.My daughter is doing great which helps me.My next challenge is getting a hold on the financial situation but I need to get a sense of peace for myself, maybe life just works so that everything is connected. If one thing is not working, everything seems to be out of place.thanks-

I'm not on meds, but also have a lot of problem with depression, stress, negative thoughts, etc. I'm trying to breath better (I noticed that I hold my breath a lot under stress which isn't good). I'm getting better, I think.
I hope things get better for you also.
