Been to the dr and it's not good
I've been suffering with a low grade fever for the last 12 days so I finally went to the dr's office. I have what she called "fever of unknown origin" since I have no other symptoms except the extreme fatigue. They did some blood work, tested me for mono and West Nile. The mono came back negative and WN test takes 2 weeks for results. But my liver function is too high so tomorrow I will be having my lab work and a liver ultrasound. The word hepititis was used....ok, can I say this scares the beejeebers out of me??? She said it could be a food caused hep but we need to find out for sure just what is doing this to my body. She also mentioned gall bladder and gall stones but I don't have any pain or symptoms.
Please pray for me, I think I am more scared this time than with the uterine cancer last year.

Oh I hope they find out what's causing it quickly and can fix you right up. I'm sorry you are scared and I will pray for you.

My husband had his gall bladder removed and when it was, it was nearly non functioning. I believe he had this problem long before he felt pain. I'm hoping it is something like that and not anything more serious.
Also with you having a fever for so long, did you take a lot of tylenol? I'm not a dr. but know that tylenol most definitely effects the liver and could be why your liver function was high.

Oh no. How awful for you. I know how hard it must be for you to wait for those results. I've been doing the same with my dh. We've been waiting for 2 weeks tomorrow, so I know how you feel.
I'm hoping and praying it's nothing serious and that you'll be feeling much better SOON.

Oh I know about Hepitits A, my dad caught it in the hospital without anyone knowing he had it. He had come home with it and all the relatives flocked over to see him. Those of us who didn't catch it had to go to the health department to get shots. It didn't hurt anyone, no long term problelms, but boy were they sick. My father had 12 siblings at the time, their spouses, some of their kids had been over, 5 kids of his own, our spouses, and 13 grandchildren. Out of all those people only 4 or 5 of them caught it. There were so many of us that there was a big write up in the local paper about it. How embarrassing is that?
It is contagious though, and I wouldn't recomend that you do any cooking or handling of your family's food. Until you know for sure. Also the doctors told us to use anti bacterial soap to keep it from spreading.
I am so sorry to hear that you are so sick and it is scary not knowing what it is. But the liver enzymes will go back to normal as it goes away. I will pray for you.
