Today is the big day!

The first consult with the ophtalmologist, that is. It was supposed to be tomorrow and they called and said the MD was coming back into town early and told me we could come in whatever time today we wanted. Of course, I jumped on it because 1) that means his schedule was empty today and we are less likely to be kept waiting and 2) I have to go into town to go to work today anyway, so I won't be making an extra trip, oh and 3) who wants to wait any longer to know if/when DD will have surgery?

Wish us luck! Wish me no panic attacks (aside from car trips, waiting rooms get to me occasionally too.)

Thank you all! She did GREAT. I've never seen her so animated with people she doesn't know. And the doctor and his staff were PHENOMENAL!!!! I won't o into all the details, but they were just astoundingly wonderful for a busy doctor's office.

Anyway, the surgery is set for January 27th. She will have general anesthesia

but I am confident this doctor will do a fabulous job. (He teaches this surery at the local medicalcollege.) He is planning on making the incision just below her eyebrow so that any scarring will blend in with the brow line. He also gave us some samples of an anti-scar cream so we could "play" putting on cream as antibiotic cream will be very important post-surgery, then the anti-scar cream will be used.
