I don't think I could do the low-carb thing. I don't eat much meat or cheese, and I love whole grains and fruit. A friend of mine has lost over 100 pounds on Atkins, it just is not for me.

I know we all have to find our way and I respect that and hope to walk with others in a lifestyle change where weight loss and improving health are the focus.

Im low carbing with a twist. Starting on the 9th, for a variety of reasons.

I will be eating startches, one per meal, and keeping all other carbs low glycemic load. After reading so many books, I feel I have the right diet, the right approach, one I can live on from now on and one I won't dread waking up to.

My breakfast will be Crustless Quiches, protient shakes with cottage cheese and fruit, or a low carb food bar.

Lunch and dinner All I will emphasise protien, minimum 60%, LowG veggies and/or salad, small potato/noodles/rice.

I am also making small changes each week to alter all phases of my life over a 6 month to 10 month period of time.

I want to support and find support in this lifestlye change and be able to share victories (and of course defeats) and walk this path with friends.

Anyone who is looking for a less restrictive "low carb diet" should check out WW's CORE plan. I did really well on it earlier this year, and I'm going to start it again tomorrow
