Got snow? Try Snowshoeing!
http://www.snowshoemag.com/first.cfm It's pretty neat to be standing on snow & not sink in. Great workout too.
Things have changed from those clunky things that look like tennis rackets attached to your feet, now they are streamlined and easy to use.

LOL every winter for the 16 (almost 17) years I've been with Dave, I've said that I want to go snoeshoeing, "and not those new fangled ones. I want the old fashioned ones that look like tennis rackets" Boy I sound old

we did this when we lived in alaska. it was awesome and a great way to get around. they were the tennis racket type, and took some getting used to. when we moved to the " lower 48" i kept one and used it in my living room as a decoration along with a piece of diamond willow that we brought from there
