    Unhappy My finger is infected

I cut a big hunk out of the knuckle on my thumb a couple of weeks ago while useing my kitchen mandolin (without the guard). I kept antibiotic ointment and a bandaid on it until it started to heal over. But now it is all red and big and puffy. I asked a nurse in my Sunday School class today and she said I needed to get it taken care of before it goes into the bone. Joy.

I don't know when I can go. The guy is finally coming to fix out furnace tomorrow, and Tuesday both girls have parties at school which I am involved in. I just have to hope the doctor will be in on Weds.

    Man, this thing hurts too!!!!!

Call the doctors office tomorrow morning and see if they can take you as a walk-in patient real early or real late in the evening and just explain whats going on. You really don't want to wait 3 more days hun. I hope it feels better very soon.

I wouldn't ait if I were you, either. Speaking as someone who has had septicemia before, it isn't fun. Infections are nothing to mess with. Not to scare you, but Rosie almost lost her finger a few years back to a fast moving infection. Get thee to the doctor!!! (Maybe an urgent care place that is open late?)
