Question Do you use a pedometer?

If so, how many steps do you average per day?

I am thinking of purchasing one just to make sure that I am actually walking instead of sitting at my desk all day

I started using on e last week. I try to get 10000 steps a day.
It's nice to see how many cal I burn and how many miles I walk just cleaning the house.

I don't use mine during the day, however when I go walking I use it all the time. Its fun to see how many steps you do while walking.

Just to the post office (about 5 mins) is 872 steps.

I've tried a few different pedometers, but never seemed to have much success with them. I found if I wanted accurate readings it depended on what I was wearing for clothing, and only certain clothing items I had allowed for accurate readings.

I will pull it back out again, but for now its not a tool that works well for me.

I prefer my heart rate monitor to a pedometer.

I had one when I was part of the walking club when I worked at the casino. Not sure where it is, but its amazing how many steps you average a day when working in a resturant.

I used one before I became pregnant. I averaged about 10,000 a day. I need to brush it off after the baby comes, because I plan to make walking a part of my daily routine again.

I have been using one. It is a great tool for learning how many steps you actually take, and has helped me to keep on walking. Now I purposely park further away from the stores to get in those extra steps. And I walk to the mailbox instead of driving (our driveway is pretty long).

I have used one in the past - should probably start using one again! I averaged 7000 steps per day - I have a desk job. It was my goal to increase my step count to 10000.

I have one that I used regularly for awhile. It's in my purse and I need to pull it out and start using it again. I ordered mine from Avon ~ the Curves pedometer and it was only like 5 or 6 dollars.

I bought the Omron HJ-105 model off of Amazon for $15 or $20 - it has the right amount of features for me (7 day memory, calories burned and miles walked in addition to steps taken) but not TOO many.
