Anyone using Dr.Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss Solution?
This is the plan I am using. So far, so good. I do not own a scale and didn't weigh myself before starting, but I can tell a big difference already. My clothes do not really fit right anymore. YEA!
I am also using a pedometer to keep track of my steps. My goal is 10,000 per day. This is also discussed in Dr.Phil's book.

This is the one I'm basically following. I have all the books and I'm finding it the best one for me.

Oh goody.. another for the list at the library! I'm sure I'll have to wait for it, especially this time of year! LOL! I have been wanting to read it for a while and kept forgetting about it.

My library had it! I checked it out today, along with the companion "Food Guide".

I have both books. The food guide is really not necessary unless you need a way to find out calories, fat grams & sodium, etc. Most of the info you'll need is written on the food labels.
The first part of the books helps you to define why you are overweight. Sometimes there are underlying issues and reasons why we are fat. I discovered a lot about myself with his book.
Then, you learn about the foods that are good for you, portion control, good habits, excercise, etc.
I like it because you get all the foods you need to live a healthy life and it works. None of the food groups are cut out, except sweets & sugars. Carbs that turn to sugar in the body are not taken away, but are allowed occasionally.
He tells you exactly what kinds of foods you should be eating and when to eat them. You will eat 5 small meals on this plan. You won't have time to get hungry. There are also menus you can follow, if you choose to.
You will aslo learn ways to fight off temptation and create an environment that makes it hard to cheat. I know this willl be hard for many who have families that are not following this plan.
This is worth taking the time to read and learn about. Good luck to anyone doing this or any otehr plans.

I have never watched Dr. Phil on TV. I don't watch much TV at all. I do love the way he writes, and am enjoying the book very much. I think it will help so much with the "head issues" that have kept me fat all of my life. I have lost huge amounts of weight in the past, but always regained it. Not this time, sister. This time it is going for good. I will never revert to filling my body with junk. I am down 12 pounds now.
