Easing the pain of a sore throat
1. Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
2. Gargle with warm salt water (1 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of water).
3. Suck on throat lozenges or hard candy (low in sugar).
4. Eat soft foods.
5. Suck on Popsicles.
6. Use a humidifier.
7. Drink lots of fluids.

Dh is trying to pass his sore throat and cold back to me......and I'm not taking it.
We just got a cool mist humidifier for the bedroom, and I absolutely love it. This morning was the first time since dh got sick that he woke up and could breathe!!

Chey, thats the type we have too. The minute any of us gets a cold, it goes on. It's so much easier sleeping when its on.
Hopefully you don't get sick again.

Gargling with warm salt water really works wonders. It took awhile to convince DH but now he's a convert.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

I can't gargle. I don't know what it is, but every time i do, I about drown myself.
But the honey tea sure helps and I take tylenol or ibuprofen to take the edge off. I would rather just about any other cold/flu symptom to a sore throat. Those are teh worst. I am trying to ward one off right now. I have a stockpile of popsicles this time!~~ Missy ~~

Traditional Medicianal makes a nice tea called Throat Coat. Others too like Gypsy Cold Care & Echinacea. Good with honey.
Helps relieve a sore throat. They have soemthing like lozenges now, all herbal, no sugar, they work very well. Good things to have for an herbal medicine chest.
