Default Did anyone watch the figure skating last night?

I LOVE figure skating. It is so beautiful to watch. I could do without Dick Button always criticizing everyone in such a negative way, but other than that, I really enjoy watching the skating during the Olympics.

I just loved the Polish couple last night. They were very retro, and they did some artistic moves I've never seen before. I thought they were a lot of fun to watch.

And the Americans with that new throw- wow! I was pretty amazed with how perfect it was.

    Can't wait for more.

I saw them and loved them all too. I agree that the announcer is entirely too negative. I did enjoy that each time he had a scathing critique for a couple, the judges came back and gave good scores to them. I loved the Polish couple and the Russian couple that were husband and wife were great too.

I normally don't watch the speed skating but since there a Texas kid skating I had to watch him win the gold. I was so happy for him.

I missed the speed skating- I got a call from work (I was on call) and got distracted. Glad to hear the Texan won!

I forgot to comment on the other big new thing besides the scoring- did anyone see the Chinese woman wearing pants? It was so...weird. It just freaked my eyes out a bit- I didn't realize that the rules had changed and I just didn't like the way it looked. I like there to be a very feminine outfit and a masculine one. (I don't wear a lot of dresses myself, but they definitely have their place.) I don't like it when female skaters dress as men, either, as Nancy Kerrigan did when I went to see the show last year, and has done on Skating with Celebrities.

    Any comments?

I did notice that. The Russian woman also wore pants, she had a blue one piece pant set on. It was pretty but I do think that the skirts are more flattering for the preformances.
