Question I am not sure where to post this but.....

What is a good natural cleaner for removing pesticides and such from fruits and vegetables? Until I can get my garden growing I have to buy store bought and organic just costs too much so I want a good natural way to remove toxins. Help!

I've heard to wash them in a vinegar rinse. I sometimes will even use a drop of dish liquid if something feels extra waxy. I always rinse very well.

Health food store sells a good vegetable wash. I picked one up- lasts a long time.

Just keep in mind that the difference between organic and non-organic isn't necessarily all on the outside of the peel. The plant also draws up pesticides from the irrigation water used on the crop, so the toxins are also in the meat of the plant. This is especially true for high-water content foods like lettuce and celery, and I know some people who raise aquarium snails who won't feed their snails commercial lettuce, even washed, because the toxin content within the leaves is enough to kill their snails.
