Eleven yr.old son just scared the heck out of me!
My son just knocked his knee so hard that he went and sat down at the table and passed out!
He then flopped backwards off the chair so that he was bent backwards in a curve and started to seizure! it last a couple of seconds until I could get to him and hold him straight....he then stopped shaking.
My 14 yr old is a first aid cadet and said he was going into shock. We layed him down on the couch with his feet raised and his color came back and he began to warm up!
Oh my I am still hyperventilating.
He never seizured before. My Dd says he must have hit that very sensitive part of his knee and that plus the weird position he fainted into might have caused the seizure because it stopped the minute we straightened him.
Whew!

Oh my gosh! That is terrifying! I'm glad he's okay.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Going to follow up with the doctor? That would have scared me to pieces.

He's fine now.
We kept him quiet for awhile until it was clear that he was warm again. Then he was hungry LOL!
I will mention it to the doctor next time I'm there.......
His knee seems fine.
He did something like that last summer. He was mountain biking (taking jumps and silly things like that) and he fell hard on his arm. I thought it was broken....he was so dizzy and went into shock again. I took him to emergency.... it wasn't broken but had a mild sprain..... no seizure though. I think perhaps it was just because he whacked his knee SO hard in that "funny bne" place combined with fainting backwards over the chair so his spine was in a very awkward positon causing him to spasm or what ever it was. The minute I brought him level he stopped and awoke...it was over very fast. But still...all that over a whacked knee?

GOOD LORD!!! How scary for you! I'm glad he's better!
Nothing can taste as good as being thin will feel.

I would definitely think a visit to the dr is in order! Especially since this isn't the first time he's had this kind of reaction. It doesn't seem normal to me, and anything where a child passes out...we go straight to the ER, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, go directly to the ER.
I hope he's feeling better. Scary stuff!!

I would take him in too. Wow that is frightening ! It does seem a little strange... I remember when I was young, I would go into shock really easy. I once twisted my ankle running around excited to go on a beach trip, I then crumbled up and passed out...He is probably fine, but I would want to make sure.
