Problem with Eyebrows :-(
Can someone tell me if they have heard that you should never tweeze or wax the top part of your eyebrows. I was recently told that the brow up towards the hairline should not be touched. (not sure if I am explaining that correctly) I found a pix

I looked also looked at the site and it helped a bit. I can use the information I found there. http://www.make-up-cosmetics.com/mak...w-arching.html Does anyone tweeze the whole brow, not just the arched area?

I never did the tops just because my mother told me never to do that. I always thought they told you not to so you didn't lose your natrual brow line. But I have a dd with a uni brow and if she didn't have the top waxed she would have the brow of an ape. So I guess it would depend on how hairy your eyebrows are.

I had always learned never to touch the top of the eyebrow, but I always pluck the stray hair on the top. I try not to go down too far on the top, just clean the line up a little bit.

I prefer not to wax the top of mine, but sometimes the waxing person gets a little overzealous and puts the wax up there before I can stop her. Mine always look fine either way.

My mom told me that also. It is the reason I never did it. Just recently I had my brows done and I was again told about the natural brow line. While I don't have ape brows (I love that

If I didn't groom about the arch I'd look hideous. I have to make waxers groom up there. I frankly can't believe how they could seriously let me walk away with the plethora of strays and such that I have and tell me I look good when I obviously don't! Maybe the rest of you are just lucky, but I say that if you're not blessed with a lovely natural construction, you need to take matters into your own hands!
(My compensation: I have no need to bleach anywhere on my face. It seems that so many peole I know need to, even natural blondes, so I carefully scan and even ask when I go into the salon. Go figure!)Do whatever He tells you.

I have my brows waxed, under and over for about 3 years now......they look so much better I wish I would have started doing it back in my younger years.

I've had my tops waxed since I was 12. (Unibrow problem also). Nowadays, I only pluck and I DO pluck the tops. Have to. They get REALLY bushy if I don't and they lose their shape.
At the last salon I went to get my brows waxed (over a year ago) the lady asked me if I wanted the tops waxed and told me that her boss doesn't allow them to do the tops, but she would for me. Guess it looked bad enough!!
Mine are so thick from tops to bottoms that I can shape them to be arched by taking out the tops. Recently, I let them grow out because I had plucked them too thin. I've seen in some magazines that thicker eyebrows are IN right now.
Does this help?

Hi Wendy,
Thanks I did get them done yesterday. Very happy with results. It is iteresting that you were told that "the boss does not allow it". I wonder how this thing about no touching the tops of eyebrows came to be. You know, aside from "mom told me not to do it!"
Yes--I have noticed that eyebrows are quite thick these days.
